BLACKBOOK Runners:  (Very good Blackbook team this week)

Splendora – Doomben R4   No.5 (1200m): Takes on the big girls but gee I think she is up to it.
Rudy – Doomben R5   No.1 (1615m): Set a task with 59kg? Can win but hard.
Flamboyer – Doomben R5   No.3 (1615m): Should be hard to run down.
Snapcrackle – Doomben R5   No.12 (1615m): On the up in same race as above.
Cape   Kidnappers –   Doomben R7 No.14 (1200m): Looks the one to beat. SCRATCHED
Love   Rocks –   Doomben R8 No.14 (1200m): Up on pace and hard to beat.

Race 1:

Simply watch and learn for me. STROAK obviously the one to beat but im staying clear.

Race 2:

ROCKY KING meets SEEK AND FIND 3kg worse at the weights which will help the toppy. I still feel ROCKY KING is the horse to beat but this is another race I am not overly keen on. I have a lot of time for GENERAL EXHIBIT and wouldn’t be surprised to see him strong late.

*Leaning ROCKY KING but not a great betting affair.

Race 3:

This would be the perfect race for VOLKHERE if he was on song. He has started to really mix his form and has cost me plenty in a couple of runs this prep so hard to be forgiving, this is however suitable.

MALING has been up a long time but comes out of probably a harder race where he was beaten a neck. Dry track suits and will be up on pace and hard to beat.

CATALONIA ($7) was really strong late and inclined to think she can improve on her modest win record…

MASTER AVATAR will be better for recent racing and ready to win on a track he is unbeaten on.

TRIFECTA:  1,2,5 —  1,2,3,5 — 1,2,3,5,6         =  $27  for 100%

Race 4:

The best race of the day in my opinion! There will be a stack of money for MISSY LONGSTOCKING and she is a genuine Group mare in on level weights, should be a matter of just by how far??

That is one train of thought, mine is that SPLENDORA $6.50 is extremely good and I will be on her to cause the upset. She will get back and I am certain Dunn/Colless would have like more runners to create more tempo but with even luck and pace she can roll them, don’t worry about that. If it was 1400m I would be more confident and that is the only question, does she want further now?

ENQUARE is obviously another ‘blacktype’ mare who has a big future and this is very suitable.

They are my clear top 3. Happy to play first 4’s etc around them.

On Top Value: 5 – SPLENDORA   $6.50

Next Best:  1- MISSY LONGSTOCKING,  2- ENQUARE

Race 5:

RUDY is a horse I have been spruiking but gee he has a task with 59kg….. He can win but gate 12 and that weight won’t make it easy. A big plus is the speed will be genuine here from a tricky start and pace drawn out wide. (I believe he is out as I type)

FLAMBOYER, PADRINO and KALANDULA went over the line together last time and all draw alongside each other here in 13,14,15. All likely to push forward although if KALANDULA was mine I’d be inclined to try something and go back on him. But I don’t pay the bills and he can still run a race on pace if need be. All three can play a part here.

L’ENTRECOTE can get  the run of the race 4th-5th if they want that spot and can be considered in tri’s.

No doubt in my mind the value runners are OUR ZIDANE and SNAPCRACKLE ($16), both real improvers and could jump out of the ground here, both on the minimum 54kg. I thought SOME CALL HER WILD was good enough last time out too, so plenty of value in tri’s etc.

AMEXED will eat up the 1600m and gate the only question.

*Not keen to tip fav in a race like this but I have always liked him.

On Top:  3- FLAMBOYER, 9 – KALANDULA

Value:  12 – SNAPCRACKLE  $16

Race 6:

THE WHITE HOPE, HAMPDEN and TROMBONE ALLEY push forward, surely they drive each other into the ground?  Great race for THE WHITE HOPE, 2nd up, Doomben 1350m.

WRITTEN ABOVE ALL (Scratched) has been racing well enough to have some hopes here from a decent gate and GUNNER KNOX can sprint well fresh at a nice price.

CONGO respected if he runs. I have respected VACALLO every run and now I jump off from frustration he will probably produce!

On Top:  7- THE WHITE HOPE

Next Best:  12- GUNNER KNOX  ($26),

Matt Dunn Racing

Race 7:

Very interesting George Moore stakes…

Speed from 13, 5, 16 and 18. This should be a very good tempo and horse like CAPE KIDNAPPERS and MORNING CAPTAIN benefit from perfect gates to be within striking distance on the corner. McMahon is in good form and hopefully he rides CAPE KIDNAPPERS  (SCRATCHED) around 5th-6th and save him for one last crack at the 250m.

You know what you get with MORNING CAPTAIN, he will stick his head out. FAMOUS SEAMUS is airborne but 60kg from gate 18 is some sort of task!

LUCKY HUSSLER fresh, yes. Can run very well, keen to see if there is money for him.

The interesting horse is STARTSMEUP ($21) who has changed stable more times than my Mrs has gone shoe shopping! Not sure if connections were critical of the Melbourne campaign but when Hienrich had him she said straight out the horse doesn’t travel well and is lengths better at home. He is going to start stupid odds here and a win will not surprise me. Also has Stewart on board and he is as good as they get.

GUNDY SON, DELAGO BOLT and BENNY’S BUTTONS are always competitive in these races and have to be given a hope. DOUBTFILLY drops 4.5kg on a very good effort last week and a drop of rain would help her.

*Going for value but admit fav is the one to beat.

On Top:  4- STARTSMEUP

Hardest To Beat:   17- LUCKY HUSSLER

Race 8:

A fair speed again here and by this stage it could obviously be hard to catch front runners who skip away after an even lead.

They will find it very hard to beat LOVE ROCKS who comes off a dominant win at this level and pays very little in the weights for that win. He will again roll forward and unless something like LEEALAN and another go silly he should hold them off.

Of the others QFIGHTER has lengths on most of these. He gets a dry surface but Doomben is not as suitable as EF and he jumps a little in the weights. That being said, if you can make ground he will be coming at a rate none are able to go with.

If you decide to go wide in quads or tri’s, LUCKY SOUND, KEMPELLY and VIKING HEART are all capable at this grade.

On Top:  14- LOVE ROCKS

Hardest To Beat:  7 – QFIGHTER
