Slipper Draw

Print Friendly, PDF & Email

The Golden Slipper draw has been completed and the favourites have faired ok. Sepoy has gate 10 and if the emergency doesn’t run he will jump from 9. Smart Missile is the horse on everyone’s lips after he galloped sensationally this morning (Tuesday) and he has drawn the best of the top few in the market, so expect to see a lot of support for him between now and start time Saturday. John O’Shea’s pair Foxwedge (11) and Elite Falls (16) drew wider than they would have liked but are still in with a chance with some luck in running.

It has ruled a line through a few of the outsiders in the race but still has enough good chances to make it a good betting race now. Sepoy holds favouritism around $3.20 and Smart Missile is in to $5.00.

The BMW 2400m WFA draw was also conducted but over the mile and a half barriers are not of as much importance as the short slipper trip. For those interested Maluckyday drew 1 while Linton drew 4 and second favourite Descarado got gate 7.

Maluckyday is $2.70 favourite and Descarado is around $3.70.

We will have my preview of these two big group 1’s up on the site Thursday for those who are interested.

***In another strange twist it has been reported that Glen Boss has got off Absolutelyawesome in the Derby to ride Shamrocker. Boss was telling anyone who would listen that Absolutelyawesome was the next superstar of racing over the last month?

*** It may not be the Slipper but for those looking for a more relaxed atmosphere in a couple of weeks, get a group together and get out to the Goondiwindi races.

Check out their site and see what happens out there on the biggest day of the year.
