Some good rides last week

There will obviously be a heap of good and bad rides over the week and you might have your own, feel free to share on twitter or facebook where I’ll post the article.

Matthew McGuren- The ride CHARMED PRINCESS in the Grafton Guineas was very good. The fav had found the box seat and CP was a pair further back but McGuren made a move before the corner and was able to be a length in front of COMMANDER and R.King entering the straight and with about 7kg difference she was able to sprint better. May have been the difference between winning and losing, very good ride.

Brad Stewart– Looked like a simple ride but his ride on SNITCH was also good. Lloyd was always going to try and dictate on AUERBACH and Stewart could have easily sat 5-6th and spotted too much start. He was more aggressive on SNITCH than they’d been all prep and was putting pressure on the leader before the corner and not a big margin here so the tactics were spot on.

Jason Collett– The ride EIGER in the Grafton race was typical Collett, he jumped well but eased and had the back of Underwood in a fast run race. He judged the tempo well and on the corner just waited to find the right run knowing he was on a horse who would sprint well when asked. Fav backers were happy and that’s Collett at his best.
