Some QLD’ers to pull up stumps– For now

We have seen some good Qld performers during the carnival so far, but most have now done their job and a few of our stars are heading back to the sunshine state.

I had a chat to Jason McLauchlan and Tony Gollan over the last week or so and both indicated that most of their horses will be floating home shortly.

Gollan has Falvelina and Cariad running tomorrow (oaks day) and is hoping for a good showing in a couple of tough races, but Temple Of Boom, Spirit Of Boom and Listen Son have done their bit in Victoria for now. Tony feels a race like the Newmarket down the straight next year could be a possibility for Temple Of Boom after his outstanding form this spring. The very astute Toowoomba trainer also said he was left scratching his head after Listen Son put in a very ordinary run last week. The horse seems fine and he will just see how the horse pulls up this week.

Jason got another winner for the Queenslanders when Facile Tigre won on Cup day! He has always shown ability and has really improved this time in work. I’d expect him to be right in some group races over our winter carnival. Both he and stablemate Phelan Ready will also return this week.

Let’s hope we can get a few more winners over the remaining days of the carnival!
