Spirit Of Boom to spell for spring

As always Tony Gollan has his horses in good order and most have been competitive through our carnival without having much luck.

I had a quick chat with Tony this morning to see what the plans are with his main few horses. The rundown is as follows:

*Listen Son will line up in the Glasshouse Handicap this weekend at the Sunshine Coast.

*Temple Of Boom at this stage is a chance to run in the Ramornie handicap at Grafton on July 13.

*Spirit Of Boom has gone for a three week break, and will be prepared for the spring.

Tony is a very astute trainer and all their goals seem achievable. I am very excited to see where he will target with Spirit Of Boom in the spring as he has not had much luck but is a really nice horse on his day and there will be some nice races in store for him in Melbourne. He is a horse that can win races between 1200m to 1600m and when he gets conditions to suit can reel of very quick times. I would be surprised if he didn’t pop up in a nice race over the carnival.

Listen Son seems to be a bit of a forgotten horse leading into the Glasshouse with most talking of Woorim and Adnocon. He will be up on the pace, he will meet Woorim better at the weights and Gollan may well have found the right race for him. Adnocon’s win in the Eyeliner was very strong, but I’m sure Listen Son would have been highly competitive in that race.

It is interesting to see Temple Of Boom is aiming at the Ramornie. He hasn’t won at the 1200m yet, but with a good gate and a drop of rain, he too can be a major player in the Grafton feature.
