TattsBet will donate its commission from tote win bets placed on all eight races at the Sunshine Coast this Sunday, November 17, to the Desiree Gill Foundation. Racing Queensland in conjunction with the National Jockeys Trust established the fund in Desiree’s honour after her tragic passing in a race fall at the same track last Saturday.
TattsBet General Manager Brad Tamer said customers betting into the Tatts win pool across all Sunshine Coast races on Sunday will directly contribute to the fund.
“We were deeply saddened to hear of Desiree’s passing last Sunday and this is the least we could do to contribute,” Mr Tamer said.
“Desiree was a great ambassador for Queensland Racing and provided inspiration for younger jockeys learning the trade.”
“Win or lose on Sunday, punters can have a direct influence on the fund.”
The first race at the Sunshine Coast on Sunday will jump at 12.30pm Eastern with race 7 named in Desiree’s honour.
