Taylor not finished down south yet

Some of our recent interviews have proved to be quite fruitful with winners coming soon after. That was again the case last weekend with Divine City saluting for Garnett Taylor at the Gold Coast. We caught up with Garnett a couple of weeks ago and he informed us of the filly’s quality and she didn’t let the Rockhampton trainer down.

Divine City landed in the second half of the field and unleashed her powerful finish to run over Leealan in the last 20m. The original plan was to run in the 3yr old Millions race, but Garnett has decided that three weeks in a row would take too much out of her. “I didn’t accept as I thought the three runs in three weeks would knock her around a bit. On the 28th of January there is a 1400m Three year old race at Eagle Farm that she will run in.” Taylor said.

Feuer Drache, the half-brother too Bold Glance will contest the $100,000 Magic Millions country cup and Jimmy Byrne will ride. If he can draw a gate he will be very hard to beat. Taylor expects that this will be the horses last run this prep and he will be spelled after Saturday.

We expected Garnett to slip in and take away some good prizemoney and that’s exactly what has happened. He will be staying around until the end of the month, so his run of winning down her may not be over just yet!
