Typically even type of day at E-F expected, however there are a few bets I think are standouts.

Let’s just get to business.

Track- Eagle Farm

Rail- + 4.5m

Surface- Should come up a -Good

Prices are www.tatts.com prices at the time of typing.

Blackbookers:

January 19
AQUATOR EAGLE FARM R1 No.2 (1000m) : Hard to beat fav..
INDUBIOUS EAGLE FARM R6 No.2 (1200m) : The one to beat..

Race 1:

DALTON looks a standout to kick the day off. Will be tomato sauce odd but may be worth a cheap tri with him to win.

AQUATOR our blackbooker looks to be the next best after a good run last start. Hard to see him turning tables though.

On Top: 1- DALTON

Race 2:

This has far too many different form lines and questions about it for me to get involved. The Nth QLD visitors all have great chances but not willing to steer punters here unfortunately.

Race 3:

MR LIGHT BLUE and BREAK THE ICE will both be keen to lead. In my opinion BREAK TH EICE is about 4L better when leading so hard to see them giving that up, especially as they could simply trot in front!

MR LIGHT BLUE may take the sit outside and I would expect him to have the leader covered. He is now in good form and hard to beat. He can however throw out a horrible run and that’s the question with him.

MASTER AVATAR (SCRATCHED) will sit behind them and although this is a step up from most his races this campaign I would be happy to have a small wager on him if betting in the race. He is on the quick back up to a suitable trip with a top jock engaged.

On Top: 5- MR LIGHT BLUE

Race 4:

I concede this could be a danger race as horses like MR ORIENT, GOLD SHEARS, AUSWORLD and SANTO DE LAGO could all win a race like this but they mix their form horribly and are extremely hard to catch!

For that reason I’m in the CASH’N’STYLE corner. He went to another level last start and is simply super consistent. The 2nd up syndrome with a horse who will get over more ground is the only issue, but I believe with gate 3 and 57kg he is the one to beat.

SHEZAHOTSHOT ready to win and gets a good chance here. Gate 2 probably not the best for her but I do think the 2kg claim is clever.

AUSWORLD and GOOD HUNTING the best two roughies for trifecta’s.

On top: 2- CASH’N’STYLE

Race 5: (First leg of the $100,000 www.tatts.com Jackpot Quadrella)

Tough way to kick off and narrow the numbers down.

I’ve been on COMMANDARE his last couple and both runs have been full of merit. Playtime got him on the line at the coast and that form was franked when she ran 2nd on Millions day behind Benetta! Lloyd, gate 6 and 54kg all point to him being around the money and I will be having something on e/w.

VINTAGE MOSS is 2/2 from a spell and in career best form. Drops 3kg off his last win goes well at EF. I am risking him to a certain degree, simply because he is going to have to do a little bit more work to cross these.

ALDINI has trialled super leading in and is very good on its day.

SPIHNRO was better than it looks on paper last week and SHAFEEQ, PROST probably over the odds at $13 each.

On Top: 9- COMMANDARE (SCRATCHED)-

Race 6:

Should be plenty of pace here with 1,5,6,7,10,14 all capable of leading.

I think the best of the leaders is LA FRISSION BELLE for Heathcote. She is super honest and dropping to 54kg with one of the best front running riders on in Browne she can prove hard to catch at a nice price $6.50. I think if you are on her she will give you a great sight e/w.

INDUBIOUS clearly the one to beat after rattling off a fast tempo last start and beating a very handy older horse. Very hard to beat.

GENERAL EXHIBIT is a horse I’ve always liked and must be nearing a break, but with luck from the gate he can run well.

CALDETES always a chance in these races and a win wouldn’t surprise but gate 16 looks a task too hard.

There are a host of other chances, but SISTER EMMA at $12 is one who should be given serious thought as the fast pace will let her get home late.

On Top:     14- LA FRISSION BELLE e/w

Hardest To Beat: 2- INDUBIOUS,  13- SISTER EMMA,  1- GENERAL EXHIBIT

Race 7:

AZZALAND $9 was enormous at the GC and is ready to win. The gate is the only query in my mind. He has won 12 of 22 and with any luck he can add to that.

MORNING CAPTAIN $4.50 was plain in my opinion at the coast but I do think he can redeem himself here. He had to do the donkey work on that occasion but Byrne can sith 4th-5th here with cover and he is very well placed.

SILVER BULLION trialled like a rocket and simply goes into quaddie for the Heathcote factor.

DUSTY GOLD is the best of the outsiders and I will throw him in too.

*Win bets both AZZALAND and MORNING CAPTAIN

On Top: 6- MORNING CAPTAIN

Others: 1- AZZALAND, 11- SILVER BULLION, 13- DUSTY GOLD

Race 8:

I said last week I think the 3yr old bunch are very good and I expect the 3 of these to fight out the race.

ACCIDENTAL beat some decent horses at the coast and then ran 3rd against the older horses last start. Looking for the 1400m and gets the box seat.

WRITE CHEEK was nearly a month between runs at the coast and only beaten 1L by PRECIOUS MANDY. Both of those horses must be included here.

POWERFUL JET has been racing really well and only missed a place once in 7 runs. It sounds crazy but he has gate 8 and may struggle to find a decent spot here as nearly every horse under him will sit handy…

CHIPP’N’AWAY the smokey at $21

On Top: 11- ACCIDENTAL

Hardest To Beat: 13- WRITE CHEEK, 9- PRECIOUS MANDY, 14- POWERFUL JET

Gibbo’s Best Magic Million’s Day:
