BLACKBOOK RUNNERS this Saturday:blackbook

Catkins – Caulfield R5 No.2 (1200m): Should get her chance.

Kiss A Rose – Caulfield R7 No.2 (1400m): Will be around the money

Arado – Eagle Farm R6 No.9 (1200m): Suitable race

Friendly Dragon – Eagle Farm R7 No.8 (1200m): Nice e/w chance around $10

Race 1:

FLYING HOME? Probably but I’m not desperate to bet here!

Race 2:

No doubt JACQUETTA will be very hard to beat again here after a dominant win last start. She did however get the gun run and the race was run to suit. AMALFI DREAMS and WRITE CHEEK meet her 1kg and 0.5kg better off here and luck in running is what will split these mares.

AMALFI DREAMS missed the start and lost all hope in a slow run race last time. I have a slight leaning to her but she needs to jump well.

WRITE CHEEK and PICKABEE both nice horses with some hope.

Hardest To Beat: 2- JACQUETTA

Race 3:

Although it’s really not one of my horses BOREHOLE is going really well without much deserves a change of luck from gate 5 here and just 54kg gives it every chance. Enough speed on here for him to get home hard.

This is extremely even and BEVICO GIRL, SOULD CRUSADE and HOLLYWOOD BOUND went head to head a fortnight ago and very little between them.  All legitimate chances again.

NOISY OCEAN (SCR) is a better horse who drops in grade. Although he mixes his form horribly but can’t be underestimated in a race like this.

Value:  4- BOREHOLE

Race 4:

BILLY AUCASH comes out of a couple of pretty good form races. He was 3rd to Vintage Moss and Aldini, and then beat home Volkhere and Mishani Warrior which really stacks up here. Not overly keen on the $3, but he can win.

HLUDOWIG gets out to the trip for the 1st time but don’t be thrown by his last start when beaten a fair way., the track was bias that day and he went good. If he can sit a touch closer he will sprint well.

DOLLY DOLLY is a very interesting runner. She is a very good 1800m+ mare resuming. She should sprint well fresh and if there is money for her I’d be more than happy to follow it.

ESSINGTON the class horse who may even be in well at the weights here, and ROCK HOME LATE who should be able to get an easy enough lead here are also well worth thought.

**This is a very hard race to get a hold of, but at least there is some value around because of that.

Follow any money for DOLLY DOLLY.

Race 5:

Now we get to the Quaddie legs and the races that interest me.

Speed galore as expected here. 2,5,7,8,11,12 all push forward.

I will be backing two horses. SHAZZLE PAZZLE is flying and is more than capable to box seat here with cover. Gets in with 51kg, a 5kg drop on her super run midweek where she did a stack of work and just got beaten late. Around $4 looks a good price for a horse in this form!

More than happy to have something on TICKET TO DREAM for Matt Dunn who has them going very well. She hasn’t been seen for a while and forget her last run where nothing went right, bias, hard track etc. Gets the ‘edge’ off the ground here, good gate Colless can stalk them and unleash her sprint late. Around the $12 mark is more than generous.

DR BARNARD is in good form and pace on will suit. WHO WILL is tough and can be best of leaders. BUSHY looks a nice horse, the question is the 1000m, but don’t sell short, LOVE ROCKS comes out of an ok race and THE ZEDHORSE looked good last start over 1000m.

*Happy to roll with SHAZZLE PAZZLE and TICKET TO DREAM

Race 6:

Tricky little race, not much pace on paper. What leads? I have THEFT, D’JET and DE DOZEN STARS the three leaders at an avg tempo….

Bit of a FALINO fan and reckon he is close to peaking here. The gate is my worry. He now may have to give away a bit of start? He is not my horse, but it’s interesting to note this horse led early in his career and ran extremely well or won in those races. I don’t think it would be a bad idea again here to try and sit top 4, but I doubt they will do it..

GRAIGLEA FALCON and ARADO will both get back and ARADO in particular demands attention. Horrid run 1st up and will fly late here.

WHITLAM(SCR)  is the horse who looks to get the gun run with Colless smoking his pipe on the fence.

**Bit of a guessing game to work out what is in jockeys/connections heads here…….

On Top:  4- FALINO

Race 7:

Inclined to go wide in quaddies with a couple resuming…

LONDEHERO has always shown plenty, has to go back from the gate and hope the leaders burn along. Can swoop late.

CANNYZING gets blinkers on and forgiving SYD run. FLAMBOYER (can’t believe some early markets around $26?) showed plenty and looked as though he’d be better this time in work. HOPFGARTEN ran good time on the day when breaking maiden status. Big step up for MISS HUSSON but Munce stays on and she has plenty of scope to come on.

FRIENDLY DRAGON returned well 1st up and is screaming to get to 1200m. For that reason and the 2kg claim for Vance I think he is probably the safest bet in this around the $10 e/w.

**Wide in quad’s, won’t be playing much here.

Value: 8- FRIENDLY DRAGON  $10

Race 8:

Another open affair, more than enough pace from  1,5,7,11,14 to give each horse a chance.

Leaning to BIG DECISION on recent form but far from declaring him! Feather weight for Harrison and a repeat of last run goes very close. Was backed on that occasion, so the horse is going well. FLYING FUJI was just behind him that day and should be close again.

Am respecting North Qlder’s SHOWMETHEMONEY and DAHARA PRIZE who both have good gates and will hit the line hard late.

Far too many chances to name all but JUST A PERLA and WESTERN SHADOW are consistent and will be up on pace. ELMANTOSH, ITCHINTOWIN, SUBSTAION and SOUTHERLY all racing well and wins would not be a shock for any of them.

*Good luck working this one out!!
