April 06
ONETIMEATBANDCAMP DOOMBEN R2 No.1 (1350m) : Rated on top.
TRANSPORTER DOOMBEN R3 No.4 (1615m) : Wants the rain to hold off.
SEEKING MORE DOOMBEN R5 No.8 (1110m) : Needs to take another step, but is capable.
DISCREET DOOMBEN R8 No.1 (1350m) : The one to beat
VIS A TERGO DOOMBEN R8 No.7 (1350m) Nice horse going places
NORZITA  ROSEHILL R4 No.3 (2000m) : Should win.

*Prices are www.tatts.com prices at time of typing.

Race 1:

AGITATE will again start fav and again be very hard to beat. You would all know I don’t like these races.

However I will have something e/w on FLYING RIDDLE $8 who I was impressed with 1st prep and if it has taken improvement it will be more than up to this.

*I’d consider backing both at the prices, or something e/w the top pick.

Hardest To Beat: 1- AGITATE $3

Race 2:

ONETIMEATBANDCAMP has to go on top after his last win. Goes well here and the claim is a help.

EMVOSS the main danger in my mind. Going better than it looks on paper and I’d be disappointed if he didn’t go close.

CAELLUM is going ok and has to be a chance with 54.5kg but hard to make claim for any others here.

Hardest To Beat: 6- EMVOSS

Race 3:

Much depends on track conditions. If it happens to be dry and fine TRANSPORTER is the horse to beat. Great run last time out, likes this trip and ready to win.

If the rain comes I am more than happy to stay well away from this…

Race 4:

Gee TOP OF THE ROCK gets her chance to break through this prep. Gets in very well at the weights, gets a great run in transit and should get the weather to suit. The only issues is the drop back to 1100m. She looks the one to beat.

KNEELING would smash these on her best form, but her best form hasn’t been seen for a long time??

Cases can be made for most of the others but WARRIOR GIRL is also in well at the weights after the claim.

Race 5:

Speed galore here. KELBENJAR, IN A STORM, FLORIDA FELLOW, BLAKUIN all have early speed and with SEEKING MORE out of (10) will try to cross the lot of them.

No doubt SEEKING MORE is the one to beat but he has to take another step up again here. I have settled on him but don’t think its clear cut.

BALKUIN has taken everything thrown at him so far and even with the big weight I expect him to hit the line and be hard to hold out.

KELBENJAR mixes his form but Nat McCall is flying and he handles all conditions. FLORIDA FELLOW going really well.

MAURY the interesting runner. I thought he may have been a bit stronger in his last trial but I do feel he is a legitimate winning chance here.

Hardest To Beat: 11- MAURY, 1- BALKUIN

Race 6:

This leg of the quaddie almost looks a ‘field’ job.. Nothing would surprise.

DAZZLE US is surely the one to beat and I wouldn’t talk anyone out of backing it but I can’t take a $3 quote in a race like this. THATS KARMA (SCR)and a couple of others will also have plenty of support.

For the simple fact I feel it is so open I am prepared to have 3 small bets on very rough chances.

LENTINI MIST (SCR) $35 was very strong in a much easier race last start and may well continue to improve.

NEVER DESPAIR is a 3 year old filly taking on the older horses but with just 52kg she can stand up here and at $11 is worth some thought.

SOUL CRUSADE $17 has just 51kg and just has to overcome gate 16 to be more than competitive.

STOP CRYING worth thought if it gets to a heavy surface….

*Very open race where nothing would surprise.

Value Runners for quad–   13- LENTINI MIST $35 (SCRATCHED),    7- NEVER DESPAIR $11,   9-SOUL CRUSADE $17,

Race 7:

LUCKY LUNA, TOKAMAK and SKATING ON ICE are the main chances in my mind. LUCKY LUNA has had a freshen up. Gets back to 1350m with the sting out. He thrives on this track, after the claim he has just 56kg and at $13 I think he is the value in the race.

SKATING ON ICE would like a dry surface and if she gets that then expect a great run. She may have to get back from the gate but should launch late.

TOKAMAK is the most improved horse in brassy and when a stable like this is flying you need to respect each runner. My only question is would it prefer E-F?

WAR ENDS was terrific last start and there is no reason he won’t go on with it.

On Top value- 1- LUCKY LUNA e/w

Hardest To Beat- 9-TOKAMAK,   10-SKATING ON ICE,   2- WAR ENDS

Race 8:

RARE FRAGRANCE for Michael Lakey looks one of the value runners around $11. Had handy form down south and the first up run here was very good. She will like the 1350m and just has to overcome an awkward barrier (but a couple of the main chances have drawn worse!)

DISCREET and VIS A TERGO are the ones that could blow this field away but both will be looking for a lot of luck in running from their wide gates and both will probably go back. I think VIS A TERGO is a very good horse going places. She may just want a bit further and a better gate but don’t write her off.

GALLINARI, GERMAYNE LASS and PLATINUM MINT may be the best of the other outsiders.

On Top: 15- RARE FRAGRANCE e/w  $11

Others: 1- DISCREET,  7- VIS A TERGO
