Welcome to Brissyraces weekend on ‘The Punt’.Brissyraces in France!

**NEW ADDITION I want to bring in to Articles. I am looking for people to email in photos of themselves either with their Brissyraces hats on or stubbie coolers in different places, or even just with a ‘Print out’ of The Punt at the races, pub etc. Take a picture – email and I will post them up from time to time. (If people are really keen to get hats, shirts and coolers I may even start a little shop on the site later in the year?) That is a brissyraces hat, haha

*As usual this is simply my view of the weekend races, feel free to do what you want with the info, there is no cost, no betting strategies so feel free to print off or send to racing friends!

La Tikka Rosa – Eagle Farm R1 No.3 (1000m): Well suited back to mares grade.

Amizade – Eagle Farm R4 No.10 (1000m): Some hope in even race.

Little Bit Ditsy – Eagle Farm R6 No.6 (1600m): Looking for the 1600m and will be amongst it.

Fairytale Belle – Eagle Farm R6 No.9 (1600m):

Beatniks – Eagle Farm R6 No.10 (1600m): Very suitable.

Cum Dividend – Eagle Farm R8 No.3 (1400m): On the back-up, good sign? Can trouble them

Hludowig – Eagle Farm R8 No.6 (1400m): Far from the worst.

La Amistad – Caulfield R8 No.19 (2000m):

Twisted Mountain – Gold Coast R9 No.1 (1100m):

Race 1:

Really competitive fillies and mares race. I have four clear winning chances. Plenty of speed on through 4,5,7,11 and that should allow LA TIKKA ROSA, JACQUETTA, MISSING PAGE and BEACH BABE their chance to get home hard.

Very little between them. Think Browne will camp TUKIYO behind the leaders and get the run of the race. Bit of a freshen up suits and although a little concerned about the 57.5kg she is dropping from runs in 3 straight listed races.

LA TIKKA ROSA a massive danger with Colless, gate 1 and more importantly a hot pace. She will rocket late and could be too good coming back to mares grade. She ran 3rd to Gday Old Mate who then come out and run well in the Weetwood.

JACQUETTA probably wants further but I haven’t hidden the fact I feel she is underrated and nothing would surprise.

MISSING PAGE has been terrific in all 5 starts, and never been worse than 4th. Only concern is finding a spot from the gate. Likes to be near the pace somewhere.

BEACH BABE may be ridden cold from the gate? Think that’s the best chance for her although she did run well when leading over 1200m last start.

On Top:  3- LA TIKKA ROSA,  +   5- TUKIYO

 Piney BBQ

Race 2:

*Just can’t come into this, not keen to steer people here.

Race 3:

Will not be backing her outright at the odds-on quote but happy to stand out ANGEL OF MERCY in exotics. She is really well placed with 56kg and going super coming off a brilliant 3rd to Catkins in a G2 race. Really nice mare.

LADY ECHELON is due for a ‘good one’ off Bell, very talented rider but missed the boat last start. Will have to judge the pace here and may have to get the mare into the race a bit earlier.

GREY ASSIGNMENT had a bit of support last start and ready to fire 3rd up, a legitimate winning chance.

And PRETTY PINS + FLYING HOME maybe the best of the rest.

Prepared to gamble against KISS ME DEADLY who gets back onto a good track, goes up 2.5kg and rises in class.

Race 4:

Way too even too be confident in my mind.

Many 1st starters we don’t know about and some very handy ones resuming!

GRAPEVINE trialled really well, is a very good horse and just needs luck from outside gate.

FREEZETHEMILLIONS also trialled very well, gets a good gate and is up to this.

AMIZADE is a blackbooker, just wondering about this massive step up in grade.

SHINJI can’t do any more than it has so far!

Many other chances but feel ELITIST may be the forgotten horse and is definitely the best weighted after a clever claim for Matheson. She looked as though she would always be better next time in and from the good gate can settle where she likes and a good run is expected.

On Top:   14- ELITIST

Race 5:

Plenty of speed on and a cracking betting race. Nearly AGITATE or the field job!

Happy to think AGITATE gets across but the question is how much petrol does he use? I think his trial was outstanding and prepared to put him on top over the 1000m.

GOOD JOB BRO will probably come out neutral and guessing Browne will judt try to find some cover without spotting them too much start. Very handy horse who has a touch of class on most of these.

Same can be said for WHISKEY ALLROUND, Tony Gollan has a big opinion of him and the 1000m is probably his best trip.

The ones at a bit of value could be SIEGFRIED (comes off a nice trial), BLACKBOARD SPECIAL (any amount of ability, just needs to put it together) and SCHILLACKING SCRATCHED (promising, on the way up).

On Top:   2- AGITATE

Hardest To Beat: (as wide as you like!)

Race 6:

Cracking race.

Looking for value and having something small on PERFORMIA. Always had a bit of time for her, she was a blackbooker last start and won by 4L up north. Just my opinion but I feel a fast run 1600m with a smother and produced late just ticks all the boxes for her. About $51 was bet early I believe and that is worth a lazy wager.

BEATNIKS and LITTLE BIT DITSY have been screaming for a mile and get it here. Both in great form and they will be amongst the strongest late again.

SEA RED was very good late in the same race, while SOME CALL HER WILD is a ‘forgive’ run out of the same race.

Don’t know much about Vic visitor BEST YET TO COME but must respect out of a strong yard.

Value:  8- PERFORMIA  $41-51

Hardest To Beat:  6- LITTLE BIT DITSY,  10- BEATNIKS

Race 7:

Pace? Expecting LOVE ROCKS to actually get across here. If that is the case and he returns as good as he went out it could be race over? Exceptional preparation last time in. The question is how he has returned but this looks a good target and gate may not be as big of a concern as it first looks.

Many of these are the same old we see all the time. Of them BENNYS BUTTONS probably the best hence the 59kg. Can still run well.

Will never get me underestimating MISHANI WARRIOR who will be strong late. CHOICE BRO is a bit of a wildcard who im not prepared to say ‘no’ to, and VINTAGE MOSS + TOKAMAK have trialled well.

My roughie is CUDDLESOME $35 here though. She is far better 2nd up and Colless will just swing off her and be very kind from the good gate. With 54kg I feel she will be the big improver and the hardest to beat for the fav.

Race 8:

This looks that even I feel you have to look for the horse that seems to get the best run in the race. To me those two are KENTUCKY WOMAN $6 and CUM DIVIDEND $6.50. Both have decent draws and should have no trouble settling in the first 4-5 settling and getting every chance. Both rise 1.5kg on their recent good efforts but barriers should offset that here.

Don’t really want to split them.

BUAKAW always a chance in these races, don’t have to settle last on him from this gate, midfield would be perfect if he is comfortable there and he can run over them if the pace is a bit better than expected.

MORE LEVERAGE and KNOCKABOUT will both be well in the market.

Best value for mine is HLUDOWIG and MANICERO, thought they were leading chances in this but have to admit the horror gates make it tough. Can be given thought for quaddies if run.

Hardest To Beat:   12- KENTUCKY WOMAN,  1- BUAKAW-

**Think we will be around the money all day but don’t want to stand one out in Brisbane**
