Another of our regular trainers Matt Dunn has also got a new website for his stables up and running. http://matthewdunnracing.com.au/ is another way to check on when and where Matt’s horses are nominated or to check out their results.

As we have touched on there have not been many stable that have been able to match Dunn throughout the last few months of 2011 when it come too strike rates. Whether they were $2 or $20 it didn’t seem to matter, they were simply winning. The star of the stable at the moment is The Reveller who is well bred and seems to be on an upward spiral. It was well documented that he was pretty unlucky last start when Colless was on the back of the wrong horse and lost momentum when he wanted to be doing the exact opposite. Skating On Ice was a deserved winner after sitting three wide, but I’m sure The Reveller will show what he is made of very soon and Matt feels the same, as long as the track is not to wet. He indicated that if it is too wet the gelding would not run. Whenever he gets the right conditions, I’d be surprised if he’s not leading them back in!

The stable also have Casino Card nominated for Saturday and she was an impressive debut winner at the Gold Coast a few weeks ago. In her early trials Matt said she led easily, and he expected the same come race day, however she was slow out and went back to last. If she draws a gate then she could sit handier, but like most two year old races a lot depends on how they jump.

Dunn has a couple in Wednesday that may start decent odds that can run ok. Hidden Burst and Rapid Leica Dane will represent the stable.

His star filly Hidden Jewel has returned to the stables and will be looking to have a nice build up to the winter carnival. Caldetes is another who has returned and will be seen in the coming month, while Congo who is the best two year old in the yard is still in the paddock and will be aimed at races like the T.J.Smith during our carnival.
