The week in review

Time to have a look at the week that was in QLD.

TRIALS:

The trials were at the Sunny Coast and a few decent horses stepped out. Really liked the trial of MYMMING, she was flying early last prep before they stepped her up over ground. She was ok over ground but i’d be surprised if they go past a mile this time in. Off this trial she is ready to run well fresh wherever she turns up. I have to admit I expected a little more of WILLO TITTO last prep but this trial was good and DVD will no doubt place her a little better and allow her to get through to a Sat CL3 after a couple of wins.

DEBUTS:

BALLISTIC BOY won at the midweeks, he might not have won by a big margin and he started $1.55 but still liked what I witnessed. Might not be a star but he will go on to win a few. Will mention MILLARD REACTION but he probably deserves to be in the ‘run of the week’ category. L600=33.00- L400=21.36- L200=10.60

Have to mention THE SINNER for Nat McCall, the field looked poor to be fair but sometimes you just believe your eyes and I liked what I witnessed. He is by the sire of the moment and the camp will place him to win.

RUNS OF THE WEEK:

Already mentioned MILLARD REACTION- Excellent!

MISHANI VAIDRA ran up to her fresh run which was nearly unbelievable. Sat back in a slow run race on a bog track and circled a good field again to win.

RIDES OF THE WEEK:

NOTHDURFT: Loved the ride on ALL PLUCK and not just because we backed it. He had to stay off the fence early which he did well, then took the gap early in the straight and eased out to the best part of the track. Excellent ride from an apprentice.

FRADD: He did land in the right spot and didn’t have to do much but timed the run to perfection and got SEE THE MASTER to the perfect spot in the straight to hold them at bay on the wet track.

M.MURPHY- Another apprentice makes the list, the ride REIBY THE RED was outstanding, took the initiative to go wide at the 700m and put his horse into the race, probably the difference between winning and losing.
