Race 1:The Wrap Up

Some pretty ordinary efforts here. The first three were all very good. EPIC was very good, ROBBERS ROOST put up a fight and BYMONASHEE should have simply won! He was held up on the inside, flew late with no luck and should be winning soon.

Race 2:

They ran a sizzling 1:09:06 here according to risa, set up by AGITATE. AGITATE went straight to the front but simply does not see out the 1200m, he was brave but no match for ARCHITECT who has all of a sudden become a really consistent galloper. Not many can match his late sprint and he won with ease.

PALMERA LAD needs 1600m and you’d think probably shouldn’t have run. I’m thinking it may have been a lead up run to the Grafton Guineas and if that is the case it is a genius mve because that should be the target race and he would smash them!

Race 3:

Really not sure what Bell and Berry were thinking here? They cut each others throats and finished last and second last…….

FIXATION for the Gollan camp was impressive late running through the line while HOMEHILL and JUMBO PRINCE are not far off a win.

Race 4:

Hopefully a few took the roughie selection in BELIEVE’N’RECEIVE at the $15. Ridden up on pace and went toe to toe with SALUTER who has found form again. A great finish with BELIEVE’N’RECEIVE just getting the bob in late.

ESCOFFIER tried hard but couldn’t match the sprint of the first two.

Race 5:

Another fast run race and we have the Ramornie favs fighting it out. This time BIG MONEY got over the top of CAPE KIDNAPPERS but there is dead set nothing between these two horses and the Ramornie looks another great race in the making.

SEEKING MORE was also very brave.

Race 6:

This was the quaddie ‘blowout’. Laming can train a stayer and Harrison is in great form and they combined to just hand on and take out the Tatts Cup with THE INVENTOR.

WISH COME TRUE and PRETTY PINS both attacked the line but ran out of time to get to the winner.

Race 7:

A 10/10 from Berry on COSMIC ENDEAVOUR from the good gate. Was held up for only one or two strides at the top of the straight but still too good. She was the filly in the best form and that is who you want to be on!

ANGEL OF MERCY was outstanding and AVOID LIGHTNING is a little beauty! The big guns CATKINS, STEPS IN TIME and RED TRACER finished 4th, 5th and 6th to show the placegetters are going really well.

Race 8:

A race the bookies loved with the favs not producing much at all. A sneaky little tip around for KINGDOMS in the morning at $11 but he started closer to $25 and ran over them late. Good horse on his day and well placed in QLD.

BELLE DE COEUR loomed up and looked as though she was going to win with ease but she may be kept to 1400m in the future as she couldn’t match them late.

HI SON split those two and ran well.
