The Wrap Up

Print Friendly

It was a tough day at the Brissy races with a few blowout results. Melbourne was a good day, but it was unfortunate the track got all the morning rain. Sydney was probably the best for the punters with a few fav’s getting up through the day.

We will have the usual ‘The Punt’ section up next week. It simply wasn’t possible this week with family matters taking priority.

Here is a bit of a wrap up from Brisbane:

Race 1: First three over the line can all run well again next time. TRANSPORTER and GOLD SHEARS fought it out, but FROM LONDON was not ridden well and it’s nearing a win. DUSTY GOLD went terrible and is best to give a wide birth until next prep.

Race 2: Typical Brisbane staying race that you could run ten times and get a different result each time..

Race 3: Munce rode HARLEQUIN’S GOLD a treat and deserved the win. MODERN WARFARE come from last and had the flashing light on for next start. Wasn’t keen on CONGO at all going into this race, but he was solid late and step to 1400m and beyond his next couple will be to his liking.

Race 4: I’M COOL and GYPSY PEARL are both well above average horses who will win plenty more races. I’M COOL sat a horse in front of GYPSY PEARL in the run and both horses had every chance. It will pay to follow both. DIVINE CITY could roll them both with a step up in trip.

Race 5: Not sure what to take out of this? Many thought BRADBURY CHOCOLATE was hard done by with little luck in the straight. They may well have a point but it was set up for the swoopers anyway. Not too fussed on this form for now.

Race 6: NORM HILTON has his stable flying and NOROCOS is simply a great mare in fast run races where she can balance up. All honours to her! KORANOVSKY looked home and after a below par prep last time in she may be back. MOSSRIVER was solid enough but may be looking for a break.

Race 7: BEGGIN was very brave and after being posted 3 wide the entire probably was the run of the race. MISS ORIELLE, PRIMARY COLOUR and MAGIC SHUFFLE were all good runs making ground.

Race 8: BOLD GLANCE was put in our Blackbook last start and he got the job done well. We said he was back last start and that is well and truly the case! PROST missed the kick and hit the line hard. BRIGADOON JACK and SIGNIFIED were the leaders and both ran well. RIVER LAD was as honest as ever.

Race 9: Caitlin Lavin has done it again! D’JET backs up her win of SHOW A NOEE last week. He’s a nice horse and she has obviously found the way to get the best out of him. GOLDEN CASH again ran well. SHAFEEQ can continue to be competitive at this level, while SATCH was terrific in his first run back from his gelding operation.

**Another big week on the site this week with news, interviews, blackbookers and much more. And as i mentioned, the usual ‘The Punt” section will be back!!
