Two on the rise for Edmonds

Toby Edmonds is a trainer with a couple of classy horses in his stable at the moment, and he is doing a great job placing them in suitable races and both are great winning chances again this weekend.

The horses I am talking about are an up and coming stayer Three Red Roses, and a nice son of Testa Rossa in Emvoss. I have received a few e-mails about these horses and thought it would be worth catching up with the astute trainer to see how they are progressing and if they will both line up on Saturday.

We first talked about Three Red roses unlucky run a fortnight ago. “It was a great run, but she just didn’t have any luck down the running. She runs in the 2100m class 6 and she will run good. We will just go through the grades and take it one step at a time.” Edmonds said.

On the other hand Emvoss comes off two straight wins at the Gold Coast and seems to be flying at present. I pushed Toby to see exactly how good he feels the horse may be, and he gave us a bit of an insight. “He steps up to the mile in a no metrop win race. He could be nearly unbeaten this horse if he had any luck. He still does a lot wrong and has been  slow to mature, but when he becomes more mature we will have a nice horse.”

I totally agree with Toby as one of the races Emvoss was beaten in was the Grafton Guineas 1600m at the end of his last preparation, and the effort that day was outstanding. He missed the kick and Michael Rodd circled the entire field and took up the running to only get beaten in the last stride.

Also Girl Hussler who was in the stable for a short time is off to the breeding barn, so we won’t see her again.
