Unlucky Emvoss heads to the paddock

The horse that simply looked a good thing through my eyes on the weekend was Emvoss for one of Queensland’s best trainers Toby Edmonds. Unfortunately for those who were on the horse your ticket was confetti not long after jumping when Nash Rawiller caused interference to a handful of horses. Emvoss was caught up in the ripple effect and nearly fell. Rawiller received 12 meetings suspension from his ride on Kontiki Park, and the Emvoss supporters were left to cry into their beers.

It was reported that Emvoss was lame, but when I caught up with Toby filled us in that the horse will be spelled now. “He’s not so much lame, but he didn’t come through the run that flash and he laid down the next couple of days. Anyway he has gone to the paddock today.” Edmonds said.

Toby will bring him back and try to find the right races for him again next preparation and hope for a bit more luck. This time in work he has been placed perfectly and picked up a couple of wins, but with some luck he could almost be unbeaten. It’s also worth noting that Toby told us in an interview a couple of month’s back that he expects Emvoss to improve further next time in work.

The Edmonds stable also picked up a couple of horses from the Darryl Hansen yard including Achievements who is likely to run this weekend. He has improved from his first up run and may even get a gear change this weekend, but Toby is very happy with him and he should run well.

The other stable acquisition was Essington who has pleased the camp since entering their stables, and has a big fan base on the site. He should run at the Sunshine Coast (Friday week), but if he doesn’t make that race he will wait until the 11th of February.

Choir Girl was an impressive winner at the coast a couple of weeks ago and will be a horse to follow next preparation as she has gone to the paddock now.

*As you can see Toby has not only made it through his re-building phase, but is batting well above his average and is doing a terrific job leading in many winners! It is great now that a lot of trainers are getting websites up and running, and Toby has one that people should check out. From his upcoming runners to horses available, there is a lot to check out, so jump on and have a look at the trainers we catch up with all the time to see what the latest is with their stables.
