Weekend Wrap Up

Print Friendly

Not a hell of a lot to Wrap Up this week but I will take a quick look at each race for those who missed the action.

Not a bad day for those who follow The Punt section with a few winners including Streets Of Seattle at a juicy $24. Unfortunately our best bet Gotitallwrong went down narrowly after looking the winner the entire straight.

Race 1:

TUSKAGEE HAWK started stupid odds here- $1.40 and got rolled by CLONMACNOISE who ran midfield in the QLD cup. Looked a race to stay clear of and panned out that way.

Race 2:

Very good support for SECRET HARMONY and on face value he was just a little disappointing. He found the front but was gone early in the straight. RUDY looks a real improver and no reason he can’t make it a hat-trick soon. OUTSTRIP is a horse we have followed on the site and he is screaming for a win.

Race 3:

DOUBLE IMPACT is a swimmer and as soon as they pushed forward and found the front there was no way in the world he’d be run down. It was a good plan, a good ride and this ended up a space job!

Race 4:

Well I thought we had the chocolates here when GOTITALLWRONG loomed up and went for home. She looked home for all money until DOMINI jumped out of the pack to get up at big odds with Tim Bell aboard. No doubt that GOTITALLWRONG will be a Saturday winner shortly.

Race 5:

Nothing to note. Fitness simply seen DE DOZEN STARS get over the top over DIVINE CITY.

Race 6:

This field really dropped away with a couple of fav’s deciding to scratch due to the heavy track. LENNIE’S CHOICE was another disappointing favourite who found the front but then found little at the business end. He did lump 58kg but not sure where he sits at the moment.

Race 7:

BENNY’S BUTTONS had been racing very consistently and  proved to good here. SHAFEEQ set the pace at a reasonable tempo and looked to be travelling well inside the last 200m before he tired bad late. CRAIGLEA FALCON ran his usual honest race too but all honours to BENNY’S BUTTONS.

Race 8:

Nat McCall has done a super job with LADY ECHELON and it was great to see the filly put these to the sword. Nat had to decide between the Grafton guineas or wait for this race and she pulled the right rein. Once balanced up behind the leaders this race was over a long way out.

Race 9:

CASINO CARD started fav and a little surprisingly found the front here. He fought extremely well in the straight to only get nailed the last stride by wet tracker (and possibly improving) SILVER RIVER. There was a little bit of money for SILVER RIVER with Cahill on board but this was a tough one for punters after another fav went down late.
