Weekend Wrap Up

Many more replays to go over but hopefully punters who follow the punt section may have found a winner in GANGSTERS CHOICE $8 or the day’s ‘longshot’ in SHOREHAM where up to $31 was bet. Also good to see QFIGHTER show exactly what he has when things fall into place.

Here is a quick look at the days racing:

Race 1:

As expected the locals take it in turns and gave the interstate visitor a go. These staying races are really ordinary.!

Race 2:

The best run/ride in the race led to JACQUETTA getting a well deserved win in town. She is super consistent and it all fell into place. They went slow and forgive most of these that spotted the leaders start..

Race 3:

How good is MISHANI WARRIOR going?? Incredible to ‘out slog’ the tough old LISTEN SON in the straight and go to show he is a versatile horse. TOKAMAK was very good and will win shortly.

Race 4:

HOLLYWOOD BOUND got a tiny bit of crowding for a stride or two early in the straight and that was probably the difference between winning and losing. Take nothing away from SOUL CRUSADE who can run well again.

Race 5:

QUEEN OF THE LOCHS went head to head with TISANI TROMSO for 200m and got the better of the topweight. Both very good runs while FRIENDLY DRAGON is busting to get to 1200m where he will win.

Race 6:

I thought LITTLE FAVOURS could run well but there was a flood of money and it simply brained them! This horse could be in for a very good prep and well worth following. Not much else to mention although I felt JOPA ran ok first run for Heathcote.

Race 7:

MANICERO and BIG DECISION were both very good and cleared out here. Both had been consistent this prep with the only blemish MANICERO’S last run when he had excuses.

Race 8:

QFIGHTER had people bagging him everywhere but what people often forget is barriers win races. As stated in the preview he had gate 15 two runs back and was set an impossible task when 2nd to Susashi who then won again in a quality Saturday race. Last start they went slow on a mad bias track. His sectionals had been super and those that stuck with him cleaned up in ‘the get out’. He was the only story in the last.

**Overall a good days racing and it is great to be able to say our track raced 100 times better than the disgraceful way that Sydney is racing at present. I really felt for the connections of Teronado who was no chance the way the track played, yet they went slow to put it out of the question and the effort to finish 5th was nothing short of sensational. Again like most our horses that travel he was well underrated by the southerners and he may well of pulled their pants down on a decent track.
