Weekend Wrap Up

Print Friendly, PDF & Email

A great days racing and hopefully punters found a few winners in ‘The Punt’ section. Always nice to get the best bets up, get the value runners going good and a little slice of the quaddie.

Here is a little look at each race.

Race 1:

Really not keen on this bunch. No doubt STROAK is a good horse but not sure this form is any good.

Race 2:

ROCKY KING and GENERAL EXHIBIT clearly the two best runs. As I have stated before, once ROCKY KING finds form he does hold it and is very consistent. GENERAL EXHIBIT knuckled at the start and was a touch unlucky. Both can be followed with confidence. On the other hand I can’t have LENNIES CHOICE again this prep, he is going ordinary.

Race 3:

Hard to really get much out of these races.

Race 4:

What a race. Big fan of Holt but he may have overcooked it here on MISSY LONGSTOCKING. She was simply gassed at the 50m and ENQUARE got over the top. All three placegetters are very good mares. ENQUARE and SPLENDORA are well and truly on the way up and both have many more wins in store.

Race 5:

Jackson Morris is underrated and Les Ross knocks up training winners! SOME CALL HER WILD got the run of the race and that went a long way to winning. WE thought OUR ZIDANE (30/1) was value in the race and his run was outstanding coming from last. It really surprised me to see a stack of money for MISS HUSSON but she ran very well to finish 4th.

Race 6:

THE WHITE HOPE looked a good thing on paper and the $2.40 on some early markets was super. He got a pretty easy lead and 1350m at Doomben is simply the recipe for victory as far as he goes. Dunn/Colless- Enough said

Race 7:

Another race we were lucky enough to find the value. LUCKY HUSSLER $10 returned a treat and as expected he sprinted to well for them fresh. STARTSMEUP who I mentioned simply doesn’t travel well returned to QLD and $6 a place may have helped the punters out. MORNING CAPTAIN ran his usual honest race and only went down by the narrowest margin. FAMOUS SEAMUS was wide for a long way, he went forward from a bad gate and he is on target for the other assignments on their way.

Race 8:

Well after The White Hope won earlier this bloke was a moral wasn’t it? He scorched the turf again to run 1:08:11 – WOW. He is a serious horse. QFIGHTER has been up a long time and may be nearing the end of his prep but continues to put in.

BINGO ROSE can be hard to catch but could pick off a couple of races shortly.

**Don’t forget the all-important BLACKBOOKERS through the week** They have been going really well so always worth checking out. Also I am going to be spending a bit more time on the provincials and will look at a ‘Days best bet’ under most of the articles each day. It may start this week but I don’t want to just throw something up for the sake of it. Let’s hope it helps find a few more winners.
