Weekend wrap up

A great days racing around Australia and we were blessed  with good tracks all around the country!

It was a good day for ‘The Punt’ followers. ‘The Prophet’ struck again for his followers with BUXTED winning and you could have shopped around $4.50. We also found a few winners including best bet’s TRAKSTAR and TOO MANY REDS.

Here’s a quick rundown of the brissy card:

Race 1: Simply looks as though FLYING JET has recaptured her juvenile form and is every chance to make it 3 straight next start.

Race 2: TRAKSTAR and ANTARCTIC DREAM were the only two we thought could win in the punt section and they cleared out to fight the finish out. Hopefully punters got on last Monday and had a read of the Gollan article where he named it as one of his two horses to follow from his stable. Both of these can be followed as they have many more city wins left in them. Good rides on both horses by Vance and Bell.

Race 3: ATTICA and THEY WON’T LAST were on the back up and proved too good. ATTICA has put back to back wins together which is rare in these events.

Race 4: Really not much to note.

Race 5: Hellyer gave SOLEBID a good ride and as most thought after Flying Jet won the 1st, the form was good from last start and this horse was very solid again. He was the best run but I’m not sure a lot of next start winner will come from this.

Race 6: As expected THE SIXTIES got yet another easy lead and TOO MANY REDS camped on his back. That was race over. He simply tracked into and travelled massive until Cassidy let him go and held off OLLIE VOLLIE who ran really well. It always pays to follow trainers on fire, and Tony Gollan is just that!

Race 7: A great ride by Browne to get LUCKY LUNA home. It got the perfect trip to prove too strong. He is a nice horse on his day and this has been a great prep. GREY ASSIGNMENT was consistent as ever and ROTHERA may be getting back to form as he hit the line nicely. Possibly wait for a wet track for him.

Race 8: Yet another race where the best placed horse in transit got the money. TENACIOUS JACK has gone through his grades quickly all of a sudden and may well have a bit more improvement in him. Not sure if the placegetters have a Saturday win in them anytime soon, but both were nice runs and would be well placed midweek.

**Interstate we seen the return of MORE JOYOUS and she was simply outstanding! She looked as good as she ever has and she is well on her way to the Cox plate.

The Golden Rose seen Nechita loom up but flop. We may hear more tomorrow, but at first glance it looked as though the 1400m proved too far. I couldn’t come into her again over that trip until she proved herself. Darley ran 1,2 with EPAULETTE and ALBRECHT. Both looked outstanding and they look the main danger to PIERRO if there are any during the three year old races coming up.

In the Dato Tan HAPPY TRAILS held on by a nose over the fast finishing GREEN MOON. All honours were with the winner but I’d be very surprised if he could finish in front of GREEN MOON again in any races over the rest of the spring. GREEN MOON will improve again and is on target for either the Cox plate or Caulfield cup. REKINDLED INTEREST was a drifter but I liked his effort. He will also improve off that run and if he can get the sting out of the ground in his grand final he can still win a cox plate also. LINTON and SNEEK A PEEK were also very good looking too bigger races in a month or so.

**I’m hoping to catch up with Rob Heathcote and grab the latest from his stable early this week, so get on to get the latest!

Hope you all found a winner.
