Wrap Up

Eagle Farm strikes again! Big prices everywhere. Here is the Wrap Up:

Race 1:The Wrap Up

DIAMOND TRAIL winner at $42 and was simply the best horse on the day and was pretty dominant. LA TIKKA ROSA was held up early in the straight but I’m far from convinced it cost victory. BEACH BABE was really good from the gate and TUKIYO had every chance and was solid enough.

Race 2:

Not much between ANGUSROY, PLATINUM JACK and HARBOR SPRINGS and they were clearly the three.

Race 3:

WOW. How good was ANGEL OF MERCY? I actually thought she was in trouble during the run but had lengths on them and was breath-taking!!

I am pretty critical of Cassidy on GREY ASSIGNMENT here. He is best when free rolling and is a big tough thing. 3rd up from the inside gate he had to be positive, instead he handed straight up to KISS ME DEADLY who didn’t go hard and GREY ASSIGNMENT started over racing on heels, race over for him. He was poor but that is a bit excusable.

KISS ME DEADLY then handed up to LADY ECHELON who was ridden a treat by Bell on this occasion. The ride deserved a victory but unfortunately he bumped into an incredibly impressive one!

Race 4:

SHINJU is a speed machine! They have done a great job with it and that was impressive. SARISARA was good late as expected and surely has to step up in trip now?

AMIZADE has also got some type of future. Really solid stepping to this off a space job on debut.

Thought the best runs and horses to follow were GRAPEVINE and SAGATONA who got way back and finished hard. The perfect way to kick their preparations off!!

Just about had enough of FREEZETHEMILLIONS who had every chance and ELITIST never went a yard.

Race 5:

Had to feel for those on AGITATE. Colless just had to use too much juice getting across the field. He nursed him as long as possible in the straight but NATURAL DANCER wore him down on the line to knock Quaddie tickets all over the joint….

Gee this BLACKBOARD SPECIAL could be anything. Was wide and didn’t have a lot of luck. He was a bit green but attacked the line. He has got a good race in him. NICKED AND COURT was the other eye-catcher.

Race 6:

Let’s start with the $41 pop PERFORMIA I liked. She was terrific but set a massive task by Bobby El’Issa, I can kind of see why he popped out but have no idea why he would keep pushing up and sent her for home so soon? Impossible task and she was good.

QUEST FOR PEACE was a massive form reversal and BEST YET TO COME hit the line hard late to nail LITTLE BIT DITSY. All three were very good and will be suited going up in trip next time out.

Race 7:

Bit filthy on myself after the scratching of LOVE ROCKS the speed map looked like it was going to be an advantage to be on pace and EXCELLANTES on the backup with Browne was going to be hard to beat. Should have seen that coming.

BENNYS BUTTONS just did his thing as usual. TOKAMAK and CHOICE BRO were both pass marks.

Race 8:

MORE LEVERAGE had it shot to bits at the 200m but the long straight caught him out and can win shortly, 1200m would be preferable.

BUSHY has always promised to win a race like this on a Saturday. He has a good record and has come back in probably the best form of his career.

Best run of the race is probably CUM DIVIDEND who is going super. Just got a bit far back and had to get to the outside and just run out of time. Really good effort and although he has been in work for a long time there are no signs of training off.
