Wrap Up

Nice to bounce back with four winners from the seven selections at Eagle Farm and it is no coincidence that dry tracks are the key to finding winners.

I do think the track played to frontrunners a bit and it was advantageous to be in the leading 4-5 around the corner.

Race 1:

Missed the winner here in OUR BOY MALACHI but it was great to see him win for the North Queenslanders. He is a big lump of a thing and this was a great exhibition of speed. Led and run them a merry dance!

THE STOREMAN was plain.

 The Wrap Up

Race 2:

BRAVE ALI keeps winning. He’s just better than them..

Race 3:

FURBISH looks a pretty handy one and although it wasn’t a big margin there was a gap to 3rd which is always a good sign. Can go on with it.

DUECED put in a super run and will also prove to  be more than handy in the standard Saturday races in the future. GIRLS COMMAND hit the line very hard late in an eye-catching effort.

Race 4:

All honours to ELUSIVE STORM who had to cross from a wide gate and led all the way.

It was a funny race where the positions of horses hardly changed the entire race. I would not be sacking any of the runners who settled back, a few over raced and was hard to make ground.

Race 5:

No doubt we kicked a goal with CARMORA as he was always going to get across outside lead easy enough and the way this track was playing it put main dangers EIGHT’S A PARTY and ELMANTOSH in a pickle at the back of the pack and set an impossible task.

CRACCO put up a good fight but CARMORA was too strong. ELMANTOSH and EIGHTS A PARTY are ready to win on a fair track and BEWHATYOUWANNABE is nearing a result too.

Race 6:

Brilliant ride by Browne to put HOPFGARTEN near the lead and get him into the race on a track where it suited. He had been smashing the line in recent efforts and when he found that position he was a moral! He was always going to attack the line and nothing was gonna get past him.

I thought RUDY was brave and AVALANCHES may be even better over more ground.

Race 7:

Run of the day without a doubt was SPIRIT OF BOOM and it is incredible his brother TEMPLE OF BOOM held him off! Again a brilliant tactical move pushing forward on TEMPLE and it payed off. You can only ride SPIRIT one way and that is too get back. His effort was outstanding!

SNITZERLAND was ok but not at her best at present and SOLZHENITSYN showed enough to say at a mile he will be right in the carnival.

Race 8:

Another Browne beauty! As expected from the gate TIME TO PLUNDER was going to keep in touch and in a big drop in grade should have had the class to run over them, which he did (god bless him). $11 early was generous and even after the scratching’s $6 was still bet, incredible.

REGULAR is always around the mark in these events.

EMERALD DUKE was disgusting again and can’t touch him myself until he shows something from here on in.
