Wrap Up

Lets just have a quick look at what happened yesterday:

Race 1:

I heard Steve Hewlett joke a new year’s resolution could be to not make any specials in these staying races… Mine will be to avoid even putting any time into them!

 The Wrap Up

Race 2:

SPATHA 3rd up too good… It was a good ride from Harrison and was a deserving winner. VENTURE ON good again, but yet another placing. I had a mate tell me the other day “Any more seconds and he will be a minute!”

TOP RADA again solid late and has proved himself to be a genuine Saturday grade horse.

Race 3:

Well I can’t remember a worse more taxing run in a race! VIENNA ROYALE missed the start, was back near last, got his ears scrubbed off to sit 4 wide on speed?? Surely any chance of him making the millions is gone after that gut buster? I’d be surprised if they have a horse left this prep?

BASSILLIQUE was simply too good off the good gate and unfortunately I didn’t really get into the younger horses when I talked to Toby last week.

Not sure any others out of this can be competitive at the GC.

Race 4:

OAKLIEGH GIRL looks the real deal and probably Millions fav. She shook off the challenge of AMBITIOUS BLONDE at the 100m to win well. The runner up however will improve lengths from the outing and watch out next run!

The best run behind those was FREEZETHEMILLIONS who had to go back from the gate and made up good ground.

Race 5:

Well DIVINE CITY looked stiff last run and didn’t she make up for it back to mares grade! She exploded to put a good field away.

JACQUETTA was enormous after being wide the entire trip she still stuck her head out to fight out the placings. She is a good horse.

ANNA LIZZIE was huge as expected from the back and she will continue to be competitive in these races!

Race 6:

SOMEDAY sat 3rd the fence and gave them a beating. Can’t believe how slow they went early and he parked 3rd the fence and was way too good.

ESSINGTON made a lot of ground while FILLYDELPHIA was lame after the race and can be forgiven.

Race 7:

These 3yr old races as so even and even though INTO THE RED was incredibly backed and won, he only just got the job done and a couple didn’t have much luck.

GUNDY SPIRIT was flying late and just gave away too much start. He has got wins in store. Same goes for TINTO, the last couple from this horse has been very good and it will pop up at odds shortly!

Race 8:

Is this the making of STRADON?? I thought he would stop late with the speed on, but as mentioned many times before on the site, if you can find the lead on these hard and fast Brissy tracks late in the day it is almost impossible to run you down.

MERRYANNA was solid and REGULAR just spotted to much start..
