There will be a full review over at THE RACE CLUB but thought I’d just a quick wrap up like we used to do.

Firstly I will say EAGLE FARM is racing incredibly well! The jocks are starting to work it out, a few have mistimed runs again yesterday but as a whole they are riding it better than a month or so ago and that’s to be expected.

Boris and Jeff put in a few ripping rides on their three wins between them, Boris swung off RECKLESS CHOICE as long as he could as did Jeff on all three of his winners. R.Stewart was 3-4 wide on FRANCISCA in the ‘get out’ and she should have probably have won. After being wide he found the front on her at the 300m and she was simply exposed way too early and was run down the last 50m. Just a matter of timing and that is going to happen, she was very brave in defeat.

OINK, yup OINK started fav? There is a reason bookies drive Mercedes Benz, Lexus and BMW’s (more than happy to talk sponsorship deals if any followers own a dealership……) and they drive them because of horses like OINK, they may win one or fluke one but you’ll be that far behind there is no way out. He has now not won in 13 runs, in nine of those races he has started under $5 and again he started fav yesterday?? How? Why? Oh my!

The staying race was interesting, Gollan got the quinella but TEODORA is the one i’d take out of the race a month between runs and she was still very good through the line to only be beaten a head. FIGHTING TEO got to $3.70 fav? That was just grossly under the odds and amazed that amount of money come for him after the run last week, he was still a pass mark but not sure he’s going as well as he was last prep.

It was good to see CAPITAL CONNECTION finally produce a run that we’d all been waiting a while to see. He did get all the favours but he was dominant in the end. DOMINANT CROWN ran well as we expected but i’m still beside myself that they took the senior off and that may have cost the horse prizemoney in the end, bad call there. When you come to town you have to bring your A game ot you’ll be found out.

The three yr old race was good, TATCEE deserved the win after being wide and still strong late but I loved the run of ROCKNAVAR, she had to ease at the 800m and just lost enough ground to make her task that bit harder, she was best through the line and will be a very good filly at 2000m+. A fair few got ticks out of the race and might be a fair form guide going forward.

Have a great Sunday.
