Wrap Up

Print Friendly, PDF & Email

Very tough day! Nothing to hang our hat on other than our Best bet THE STOREMAN won and the e/w bet KURTLEY fell into the placings. Plenty of rough results though.

**It is only my point of view but I feel this track may have had more of an edge out than believed. Many horses who enjoy a wet track or sting out ran well or found form and a few that like it hard went average.

 The Wrap Up

Race 1:

Really not sure what to make of this race. It may be tempo but this track seemed to play to those closer to the fence early in the day.

Race 2:

PURE PURRFECTION missed the start and cost itself any chance of victory. A lot of ordinary runs and although TERMS OF TRADE won I doubt this was a very good race. HLUDOWIG was probably the best run of the race.

Race 3:

FRETON?? He has been around the money all prep but in far easier races and still not winning them. How he turned up here and won running away has me beat.. QUICK WITTED was game and forget the rest, once you got back and had to come wide it looked like quicksand.

Race 4:

TYPHOON RED mixes his form incredibly and is another I simply could not have. He won fair and square and showed when he is on his game he is pretty handy.

LADY ECHELON ran super again, she is in for a great prep.

RAEBURN no luck and will go up in trip and be competitive shortly.

Race 5:

Leave me out of these, please!

Race 6:

Good race this. Plenty to follow. SOME CALL HER WILD was great with a 10/10 from Stewart and she will keep running well.

BEATNIKS and FAIRYTALE BELLE from the O’Dea camp were terrific, both are looking for 1400m+ and have wins in store.

LITTLE BIT DITSY was ordinary but reckon she is 1400m+ horse too now.

DAYELA ready to win a lower race and will continue to improve.

Race 7:

Fav’s fought this one out.

Thank god THE STOREMAN hung on but STAR SAMMY was desperately unlucky and should have won the race with any luck. Steward gave it the gun run behind THE STOREMAN but the unfortunate thing was the horse outside the leader JEFFERSON PARK was going good enough to keep him in till the last 50m when it was just too late.

Race 8:

Well aren’t we fools? (Well I am). BAUKAW $12, incredible and simply too good! I have gone on about how good Colless rides this horse but Goold rode it a treat, very patient and deserves a wrap.

KURTLEY, JUST A PEARLA and SINGLE SPIRIT all good while SPARKLING SOUND caught the eye late and TRAGEDY no luck late.
