Wrap up + boxing day

I thought I would try a new wrap up today by writing as the day goes by and give a few quick reports from impressive winners throughout the day.

We do focus on Brisbane racing most the time, however ALEZAN THUNDER from the Kavanagh stable looked very good in the first race at Sandown. She went to the front and won the 900m dash easily. Some will say the field wasn’t the best, and I agree to a degree. But all you can do is win, and the way she gapped them the last 150m was awesome. Keep an eye on her.

In Brisbane Griffon kicked the day off great with it being The Prophet and my best bet, and for some reason got to $4. He was used up early and that gave Mossriver every chance to run him down, but he was strong late and it was a very impressive win.

Race 4 seen Pretty Pins strut her stuff and she is an outstanding little filly. In my opinion 1600-1800m would be her best distance, but as it is in most of the fillies races, class prevails! She gave them all weight, sat wide for half the trip and gave them a hiding.

The best race of the day was the Lough Neagh and what a tragedy beaten Ready To Rip was! Yes you do talk through your pocket, but a lot was riding on this. I have had to defend myself for consistently tipping this horse and at $13 in early markets I thought he was a terrific chance to stop the knockers. He jumped well and as we expected raced a lot closer from the good gate. However when he was about to explode he lost all momentum when a gap closed and had to pick up again. He probably lost 2 lengths and flew late to be beaten a neck. It was a great ride by Jay Ford on My Destiny who won the race. He was the horse outside Ready To Rip and kept him in the pocket. That was the difference between winning and losing. Adebisi just keeps surprising me, and fought hard to finish third. Unfortunately Zero Rock looked to break down badly not long after the start and it seems to be a hip complaint. How bad the injury is has not been worked out as yet. I will be catching up with Tony Gollan again soon and will ask about Spirit Of Boom as it looked to have a good run but just didn’t let down as expected. He is better than his last couple of runs. Startsmeup was again three wide the entire trip and was a very good run. Shuffle The Cash made good late ground and will be hard to beat when he gets to 1600m+.

**Punt wise it was a great day with a couple of specials getting up, a couple of blackbook winners and of course ‘The Prophet’ again tipping two from two for his followers.

Add to that the quaddie which paid well on TattsBet $2700.

**I was going to put up a ‘Punt’ section for boxing day but think it’s a tough day to get it done, so I will just put some that I think are worth looking at around the country Boxing Day.

Sydney Race 6 (summer cup) Trifecta boxed- 1,4,8,9

Melbourne Race 6 no. 10 CELLARMASTER

Sunny Coast Race 5 no. 2 SHOOT THROUGH

**It’s just a quick wrap up today because of Christmas. Best wishes to everyone who has followed the site throughout the year. I hope yourself and your family have a great few day!
