Well if you think you can cope, cop that you sulking poms! Not a great way to start the wrap up. I don’t know about you, but I am sick of hearing the pom reporters carrying on like pork chops as if Black Caviar isn’t beating anything , and that Frankel is unbeatable. GIVE ME STRENGTH! We have nothing against Frankel when he gets pace makers and has races set to run how he likes, so why have they got a bee in their bonnet about Black Caviar?

Can someone please send them some replays and tell them to crawl out from under their rocks! Yes, their stayers are superior, but as Moody said in an interview with Matt Chapman from At The Races UK, they are “B-grade sprinters”. And for all the Aussies saying she isn’t beating anything, watch footy instead! Fair dinkum, what do you want her to do? She has made Hay List look average 5 or 6 times and he would beat any other sprinter in the world! I can tell you that Hay List, Buffering, Sister Madly and probably Rain Affair would be in a different league than the horses she will take on in the UK. So you want her to go overseas and race inferior opposition? What do we get out of that?

She has beaten the best! Nothing in the world would get close if she is 90% fit. Let it go and just enjoy what we are blessed to see.

In Brisbane we were robbed in a way with the scratchings of Malindrino and Buffering who were pre-post favs and looked great bets. The rest of the card however were great races.

Just to brush over the 2000m 3 year old race. I wouldn’t read too much into it. This looks a very weak Derby year and I think a filly will probably win it anyway. Trump probably should have won after seeing more of Nudgee rd than he did the rail. Margins was also extremely unlucky after nearly falling and I believe they are considering a late entry into the derby. His effort was huge, and I’d be paying up.

The feature was the BTC cup and Sea Siren was simply too good. It was dominated by front runners and looked very hard to make ground. She is a super little horse and will be hard to beat in the 10,000 and Stradbroke. Beaded ran a nice race to be back on track. Scenic Blast got within 1 ¼ lengths of the winner which makes you think how far would Buffering have won by as he beat Scenic Blast by 7L running away last week. I thought Varenna Miss was terrific and when she gets to E-F she will improve again. You can also put a tick next to Woorims name.

I thought Solzhenitsyn was outstanding in the last. I note that the stewards questioned Heathcote on the change of tactics. I rekon that is pretty rough. It is called the McDonald factor. The kid is an absolute freak! Solzhenitsyn is a horse that just doesn’t seem to jump that well, but the whiz kid got him out of the gates, sat him 4th and he blew them away. Don’t question trainer and jockey, pat them on the back. I’m sure the favourite backers don’t care he sat 4th one off the fence!

**It was great to kick the carnival off with a great days racing and the days form should hold up very well.
