Wrap Up- Rail off?

Well I am not convinced with some of the form that will come out of Saturdays meeting.

It is only my opinion but I couldn’t believe how well Doomben had coped with a belting lately and I think the first signs were there to see it may be taking a toll. I wasn’t on track to see the turf but to my eye the rail did not really look the place to be and leaders pretty much went ordinary all day (and many were market leaders). The last race nearly bucked the trend but there were about 10 horses within half a length so that probably won’t stack up either.

The big race of the day was for the youngsters and Craig Newitt may have thought it was an 800m scamper around Ipswich? It wasn’t the worst ride but far from ideal for those who took the short quote. OAKLEIGH GIRL was game all the same, and as I mentioned it wasn’t a leaders day. UNEMCUMBERED got the run of the race and was solid enough in victory. Is he the Millions winner? Im not convinced yet. STROAK was the surprise for me, she keeps stepping up and was the strongest late.

One race that was talked up was THE WHITE HOPE vs STRADON, didn’t that end up a flop. They did look disappointing but I am not dropping off them just yet, this is about their level though, they don’t seem ‘stars’. HARADA BAY and TOP RADA ran 1-2 and both can run well again soon.

The Vo Rogue plate was won by the most underrated horse in Qld- ENQUARE. She simply stands up every race and puts her head out. You can ride her back or forward and she can overcome bad gates. In saying that I feel there is very little between her, SHIRAZ ATTACK and the luckless SPLENDORA who simply needs to get wound up. All are in the Millions 3yr old race up to their ears! GUNDY SPIRIT again stepped up and unleashed that great finish.

*BLACK JET has been managed very well and will be hard to beat over 1800m at the Millions.

*TOMS LUCK looked ordinary but bled from both nostrils and is out for 3 months.

*ECHO GAL tailed off a long way last and was said to have the Thumps.
