A lot of eyes turn to South Australia and a really good days racing. Big fields and I am looking for the leading stables to dominate.
Race 4 #3 Blindedbythelight $3.10
Fell this is a very skinny race to be honest. Cilicap and Terilee look the other chances. Just love what this horse did last prep and finished it off with a close up 2nd at G3 level. Kicked this prep off running 2nd to idle Flyer in a G2 at Rosehill and that is super form. Can use the inside draw to her advantage and this stable will have her spot on for this.
Race 5 #6 New York Lustre $7.50/$2.70
You just know what you are going to get with her. She has won 6 of 14 and handles all ground. From the gate they can be right on speed or be just off the speed is where I’d like her. Has won both jump outs leading into this and has a fantastic fresh record (4:3:0:1)
Race 6 #16 Extragalactic $7.50
Gee I’d love this to win for Trent Edmonds. Her two runs back have been breath-taking. You don’t have a turn of foot like her and not win good races. The gate means she will get back and need a well-timed ride, but that acceleration will give her a chance. Best L400m and 200m of the meeting last start.
Race 9 #3 Goldrush Guru $26/$6
Might be off the mark here but this bloke has class on his day and I have not minded the trials/jump out. Has had a few and the mile fresh is a great option. Good gate, good jock and his best is way better than these. Has to spot a fair bit of weight to some of the main chances but this price just seems very generous to me and worth a penny e/w late in the day.
