Thought it was just a plain set of trials at Doomben and most were just there to stretch the legs. There were a few efforts that caught my eye though and worth following over the next fortnight to month.
GRAM – Ex Freedman and now Gollan. He is a genius getting these lightly raced horses with some ability an winning plenty with them. Led on speed, got it ok and really never under any pressure to win. Will win races here.
BRAVE MONARCH– Was excellent last prep when the stable was doing unbelievable things. Sat back here and went past them like a good horse. Has come back as good as ever and nearly the best trial of the meeting.
CARDONETTE– Placed in all three runs of initial prep without a win. This was a dominant trial and ran right away from them in the straight. Will not be a maiden for long.
