Betsy’s blackbookers from Saturday

Only eight races at Eagle Farm Saturday and small acceptors. Very rare to see that at headquarters and it was just a fair days racing. Some good horses have been trialling and we will start to see a better quality of horse over the next month.

Here are some to follow out of the meeting.

FIRST EMPIRE– (Race 5) Beaten fair and square but he still has good upside. I feel he has more to give and maybe some head gear could get that out of him. Seems to settle well in races so I’d be giving it a go. His trainer is a far better judge than me though, so he will get the best out of him.

MR BUSTER– (Race 3) He is just a winner. If there was a race he’d be susceptible in it was going to be this first up. Dropped out to last in the run but it didn’t matter. Trucked up and went passed them late thanks to a well-timed ride. He’s been a different horse in Qld and just doesn’t like being beaten.
