Wasn’t a bad weekend but could have been a bit better. Here are some to follow.
DIVA BELLA– I did like the fact she had the lightweight but the apprentice just rode her like a motorbike. Could have saved some juice after 400m and could have slowed in the run. Instead went 7L quicker than the benchmark to the 600m and ran out of tickets. The effort to still run the 4th best split between the 400-200m was really good. Can find the right race if they want to stay around here.
DREAMREACHER– Wasn’t going to throw him in because he will be well found next time but impossible not too. Got back to last on a slow tempo and rounded them up. Super sort of win.
OSAMU– Beaten fair and square but a good run all the same. Another horse well placed in Qld and if they find a similar 1000m race it can make amends.
MAYBE THE BEST- Won easily at the SC and it was the win of a horse who can go to town and repeat effort.
THEEAGLEHASLANDED– Hasn’t had much luck this horse and was 3 wide on speed without cover. Kept finding in the straight and the effort was excellent. Has a couple of wins not far off.
FORGIVE THESE:
HURIWAI and RED WAVE– Not sold on them both but they deserve another chance. Neither had any luck and will be better over 1400m on a big track.
