MISS BRADBURY SURGES HOME
The TBQA’s ‘cover sire’, Bradbury’s Luck continues to make the news.
His consistent form shown this week with the sensational win by Miss Bradbury (pictured, Dan Costello Racing).
Jockey, Michael Cahill settled the 5yo mare settled at the tail of the field in the Yalumba Hcp (1350m) at Ipswich on Saturday.
He waited patiently until just past the 400m, when he pressed the go button and the impressive mare charged through to beat Freerocker by 2.8 lengths.
Trained by Kelly Schweida, Miss Bradbury has now won $114,700 from 31 starts, recording five wins, four seconds and five thirds.
BIG WEEK FOR QTIS
It was a phenomenal week for the Queensland Thorougbred Incentive Scheme (QTIS).
An impressive $156,000 was up for grabs at 13 races around the State.
There was big money on offer at Ipswich Cup Day. The QTIS 2yo Handicap (pictured, Dan Costello Racing) had bonus prizemoney of $35,000 to take the total prizemoney for that race to $85,000.
The owners of the winner, Architect, no doubt wish he was a QTIS horse – he missed the $24,500 bonus so took home just $32,000 instead of $68,500. Nude Secrets ran second and collected $17,000 thanks to the $7,000 QTIS bonus and Agitate won $8,500 for third. ($3,500 QTIS)
