2026 Cairns Super Carnival Dates Announced
Far North Queensland’s premier racing event returns August 21-29, 2026
Cairns Jockey Club is thrilled to announce the dates for the 2026 Cairns Super Carnival,
set to take place over eight spectacular days from Friday, August 21 to Saturday, August
29, 2026, at Ladbrokes Cannon Park.
Following the outstanding success of the 2025 Carnival, which generated more than
$7.3 million in total expenditure stimulus for the Cairns region and attracted 2,188
visitors to Far North Queensland, the 2026 event promises to elevate the experience
with exciting new formats and expanded offerings.

Main Race Days:
- Saturday, August 22 – Great Northern Brewing Co. Cairns Amateurs Day
- Friday, August 28 – Ladbrokes Newmarket Ladies Day
- Saturday, August 29 – Red Beret Hotel Cairns Cup Day

The carnival runs over eight days and includes additional social events like: - Friday 21st August – Cairns Super Carnival Launch – Reef Hotel Casino

New On-Track Experiences
From General Admission to exclusive corporate hospitality, the 2026 Carnival will
feature reimagined spaces and fresh activations designed to deliver exceptional
experiences for all guests. Details of these new offerings will be revealed in the coming
months.
2025 Carnival Success
The 2025 Carnival demonstrated the event’s significant impact on the regional
economy: - 10,229 total attendances across three race days
- $7.3 million in total expenditure stimulus for Cairns
- $5.4 million generated for the Queensland economy
- 11,589 visitor nights in Queensland, with 10,485 in the Cairns region
- 2,188 visitors brought to Cairns specifically for the event
- $2.2 million spent on fashion and grooming by attendees
- 68% of overnight visitors stayed in luxury accommodation
