Doomben review (and half an Ippy tip)

Wasn’t a bad days racing.

No doubt in my mind you have to be a little forgiving of those back in the fields. Yes you could run, but running on and winning? Not so much. Staying races can differ and again that happened but overall my take on the day was anything making ground were very good runs. Midfield and saving ground on the corner was fine (like FASANO, SMART METEOR) was fine. You knew it was going to be hard when they went ballistic up front and a horse like MINJEE was still only to nail them right on the line. She is well above avg and looked liked she would win by 3L on the corner.

ISOTOPE– Bolted in and looks to have a heap of upside. Not sure where to next.

BATANGAS ENTRY- Can be winning a 1200m maiden on a bigger track soon.

SNAPPY REPLY- 1000-1100m and wins will come. Can win at the 1200m, it’s just not the ideal scenario.

SMART METEOR- Felt jock should have attempted to land a pair closer and that might have made it interesting. May have just knocked up late but the winner improved 10L off the last run?

WAPITI- Very good again but as I said last start he’s just going to need a big track.

JEWELIANA– Surprised the blinkers didn’t go on here. Still ran well but I’d be more surprised if they weren’t on next time.
