This weeks early mail selections from the Thursday morning interview with Steve Hewlett on RadioTab are as follows:
**The markets are just filtering out now and they may be worth getting onto early if you agree with me.
Brisbane Race 3 no. 2 GRIFFON
*Raced fresh and sweated up a touch 1st up after a year off.
*Will improve a great deal from that run.
*Importantly he draws one gate inside main danger Mossriver and can be in fron of her in the run.
*Will run very well and TATTSBET have him at $3.60 + $1.52 early which seems a good price.
Brisbane Race 5 no. 8 SHEZAHOTSHOT
*Really consistent mare who hadn’t finished outside the top 4 in six runs until she nearly fell last start.
*Beat Racing Heart by 2.5L a few starts back and that is what she can do when luck falls her way.
*Has gate 6 and Colless on board which is a key booking.
*At around $10 she is ‘over the odds’ e/w.
Brisbane Race 8 no. 7 ROCKER
*Obvious best bet for the day in brissy.
*Wouldn’t want to take odds on, but anything over looks pretty good.
*Colless will sit midfield and with even luck should just win.
**Steve and I talked about a few other horses that I thought could win but didn’t want to make best bets:
Brisbane Race 7 no. 10 READY TO RIP.
He is on his last chance, but this is the first time he has drawn a gate in a top race for a long time. Should be around the $10 mark.
Sydney Race 4 no. 3 WINNING GLORY.
*Is one of our blackbookers and this looks a shallow race.
