This is our regular early market selections article where I go over some horses that may be worth looking at in early markets. This morning on RadioTab with Steve Hewlett I mentioned four horses at Eagle Farm that are worth serious thoughts.
Race 2 No.8 GOLD SHEARS
*Simply got too far back last start.
*Form prior to that was very good.
*The big question is tactics with her? There is no pace engaged and I’d hope they ride her positively as that seems the key to the race.
Race 4 No.12 EMPRESS ME
*Returns from a long layoff.
*Trialled like a ‘bomb’ a fortnight ago in readiness for this.
*Great win on debut last prep and then ran soundly in a hot race 2nd up behind TRUMP, BIGGLES and co.
Race 5 No.1 ALL THAT
*Gate the main concern, but some of the main dangers have drawn even wider.
*Was specked in the Bat Out Of Hell (quality) at the Gold Coast where he had no luck at all!
*Drops to a No Metrop Win race here.
*Gets in with 57kg after the claim for Looker.
Race 6 No.9 TOMBOY ($2.60 on TattsBet is about as good as you will get)
*Third up into this suits.
*Looked as though she was looking for the 1500m after last start.
*Gets a cushy run from gate 2 and just needs luck on straightening to get a clear run at them to win.
