Something a bit different as I had some time. Many may not know I like a golf bet all year round also.
Many different ways to assess the golf. Simplest way for me is form on the course and recent form. Can delve deeper at different events but no need to over think it most of the time.
The biggest issue with golf betting at the moment is if Scheffler is playing, to take the short odds or to take him on?? Much better betting on the weeks he has off.
PEBBLE BEACH pro-am. (Not my fav event but here are some thoughts and selections – Betfair prices at time of typing)
Saving SCHEFFLER $4.50 enough to cover the other bets.
JUSTIN ROSE $38 – Coming off one of the most impressive wins I have seen in a long time. Last three years here he has been a 1st-11th-3rd at this event. As good of a chance as anyone to topple Scheffler while on this course and in this form.
MAVERICK MCNEALY- $44 Was right on top of the leaderboard all last week at Phoenix and just had a day to forget on Sunday. All round good player and was better than the T13 read last week. Recent form here is not great but has had a couple of top 5’s in the past.
RUSSELL HENLEY $46 – One of the more consistent players on tour. Just the two starts this year T19 in Hawaii and T8 at The American Express. 5th here last year and ranked 6th in the world at the moment.
JASON DAY $65 – Absolute course specialist. In his last 11 starts here he has had 5x Top 5’s and 4x Top 15’s. He has had a good start to the season finishing 2nd at the American Express and this looks to be the healthiest he has been in a long time. Excited for his year and he’s a live chance here.
SEPP STRAKA- $70 A four time PGA winner and has had a couple of great years. Beautiful ball striker and it’s been the putting that has let him down so far this year (ranked 138th). Missed the cut at first tournament this year and T18 last week. I’m sure he improves this week and looks a generous price. (finished 7th last year) and if he gets the putter working, he can win.
