Two PGA tournaments this week. Feel the second string evet might be where some value is.
Here are a handful that interest me the most at $40+ on Betfair. Some similar around the place on others.
SAMI VALIMAKI $42 – Knocking on the door and only a matter of when for this big unit. 12 starts this year, made the cut 9 times and 4x top 20’s. He is 37th on the Tour for Strokes gained total, 14th in Approach to green and 11th Putting. If he brings his best he can go low.
DANNY WALKER $75– Has mixed form through the year but last three tournaments have been T31 – T12- T25. Stats not as good as some of the others mentioned but he is trending and is 30th in Stroked gained total on Tour. Bit of timing about him.
CHANDLER PHILLIPS $75– He’d rather been hunting and fishing but he goes alright with the clubs too. Another one who had a slow start but is starting to play some very good golf. Has been Top 20 in three of his last four events. He’s not long and this week might rely on Greens In Regulation for him. Very good putter if he can hit these greens.
RYO HISATSUNE $50– Not enough have been made of this kid. 22yr old Japanese lad who has made 8 cuts in 13 starts. When he makes the cut, he is in tournaments. Three Top 10’s this year (4th Valspar, 5th Texas open). Decent in all parts of the game. Strength might be Sand saves and Driving might be the little query. If he gets that right this week, the $50 looks value.
DAVIS RILEY $48– Started the year with a W/D, then four straight missed cuts, so obviously an issue. Since then has made 8 straight cuts including 6th at Puerto Rico and 7th at Valspar. Was T21 at the Masters and has won twice on tour. Can be a little lose at times but Putting can save him.
Of the Faves- MACKENZIE HUGHES $24 has been good. Just missed cut in the Byron Nelson but was 3rd at the RBC and 10th at the Houston open and all 8 rounds under 70 in those tournaments.
