2yr old Magic Millions preview: (Trying to get an early preview up for punters, numbers may change slightly but this gives you a guide). Track will be a Good 4 I’d say
Here is my take on the two year old race this year.
I just think everything points to the fav so it might be exotics many people play. She was wide on debut and just put them away very quickly in an impressive win. After the let up she went to 1200m on a soft track at Doomben and won well again. I reckon she will improve lengths off that run. She was up on a hot tempo and the effort was better than many think. Best jockey rides for about the best stable in the land and I have no issue with the gate. I think she could win a good edition of the race and this isn’t as good as many we have witnessed recently.
Clearly the next best form mine is RUSSIAN CONQUEST. She really fits the bill when you look for a MM horse. Her first trial was good and her first win was also good where you knew she would take good benefit from the day at the track. She then trialled even better before blowing them away 2nd up. She has gate speed to take up a spot and drew the perfect barrier to do so. McEvoy rides for the Snowden’s and she will be the one the fav has to run down. Gets a lot in her favour and is well and truly improving each time she steps out, that’s what you are looking for with the youngsters. SNITCAT was good late behind her but has got a few lengths to make up and meets her 3kg worse off for being beaten.
SWISS EXILE is the 1st emergency and unlikely to get a run but he goes in my exotics if he does. He was wide the trip behind COOLANGATTA two runs back and very brave that day. Last week get the tongue over the bit and forget he ever run, $51 is the wrong price. MISS HELFIRE was solid last week and just looks a professional little 2yr old. PERFECT MISSION wasn’t far off her and might try to grab her back this week for a free tow into the race. SOARING AMBITION has the horrible gate but has to be a chance of running into the money. I’m assuming they just try and find a spot three wide with cover and if they can she can run well. Four wide no cover would be disaster. She is one with a turn of foot and if she gets the splits at the right time could be the one that explodes late.
STUPENDO and MISHANI SPARTAN come out of the race last week and not sure that’s the formline but I liked their runs. MISHANI SPARTAN has no early speed and likely to land near last and buried from the gate. Will need a stack of luck and a great steer but does have a booming finish. STUPENDO would have had the prep timed to peak off that run and now here for the GF. Bad gate means like a few others needs a heap of luck. GOLDEN ARTIE in the same boat. Prep couldn’t have worked out much better but will need to find the back of the right horse at the right time. CUSACK has trialled like a nice horse but the form from the race he won down south is rubbish.
*Pretty confident the market has the main chances in the right order to be honest. Away from them the rest of the numbers look a lottery and will come down to luck in running.
