Matty Dunn stable update

Print Friendly, PDF & Email

The hottest trainer in Brisbane the last couple of months is our mate Matt Dunn. He is leading the Brisbane premiership and he has also had a few south of the border.

Hopefully punters followed us in with ROCK ACADEMY one of the days best at the nice odds. He is a horse with a lot of upside and although many felt Divine City was a ‘moral beaten’, this bloke also had to hold up to get around a horse and then come to the worst part of the track.

LA TIKKA ROSA has been superb all prep but unfortunately put in a bad stride and may have put a foot in a bit of a hole. Dunn is uncertain at the moment but after such a good prep she may deserve a spell.

SPLENDORA may well be the most improved filly in QLD and she was simply outstanding at the Sunshine Coast Saturday (She has been in our Blackbook all prep). Dunn said she is likely to head to the Mode plate 1200m Listed race where she will be extremely hard to beat again! Colless toyed with her rivals yesterday and I believe there may be more of the same to come.

LONDEHERO has been given a little let-up and there is a chance he could run in an early race over the autumn carnival in Sydney but again no firm decision has been made, Matt will simply see how the horse is going at the time. The White Hope

One of the best known horses in QLD is THE WHITE HOPE, owned by Glenlogan and he is simply a speed machine who runs his rivals off their legs. When you visit him in the stable he is a big brut of a thing and does have a presence about him. He is in this weekend and the camp is just hoping for the rain to stay away. If it is dry he will race then and probably head to a 1350m race after that.

*For those wondering how our horses with Matt are going CALDETES has mixed his form a little but we know he has talent, while SCREAMING JET is back in work and there is no doubt we are due for a change in luck with him as both his preparations to date have not exactly gone to plan. I’m sure he will measure up.

*Also the stable have a couple of very nice looking two year olds who are very close to hitting the track. I can’t believe a bloke going this good still has shares left in 2 year olds.
