Melbourne Cup at the Piney and Dunn turns our boy around

*Just throwing out a couple of plugs and pats on the back because I can!

For those who follow the horses in the syndicate my mates run it was great to see Matthew Dunn be able to get Caldetes back into the winners circle after a lacklustre prep last time in. I for one was not convinced and wanted to see him ‘do it’ before I got back on the bandwagon, but not only did he win but he was very impressive and the ride from Colless simply perfect. In saying that we don’t have any lofty plans, but any winner is a good winner and prizemoney in Murwillumbah is better than Ipswich, Sunshine Coast and usually the Gold Coast also. It tops off a nice week after our other horse with Matt ran 3rd at the GC on debut last Saturday- Screaming Jet.

*A couple of the boys went down also and a the track was apparently a treat. They do a good job at the Tweed River Jockey club and it is great to see that they are heading in the right direction and that’s a positive for racing not only in the Northern Rivers, but South East Qld too.

**The other thing I wanted to mention was the functions at the Pineapple Hotel for MELBOURNE CUP DAY. I believe there are two great functions so check out the poster below or click on it for all the Piney’s news.
