Brisbane Race 8 #7 MOCAMBO $8
Need to know they can make ground as it will get back. Last couple have been better than they read and the big track is suitable. Just a small play at the end of the day for me.

Gold Coast Race 5 #5 HAMILTON PLACE $7
I’ve really liked the build up this horse has had for a 3200m race. A very tough 2400m run and good through the line two runs back. Let settle at the back and just build through the line last start. Should see the trip out and might be some value here.

THESE BELOW ARE NOT BEST BETS– Just a guide and a bit of help for those that are looking for a steer At Flemington and mostly at value for those playing trifecta’s etc.
Flemington Race 2 #9 ROYAL CROWN $26/$6
Just a little flea bet for an interest here. Kent is a terrific trainer of stayers and expecting sharp improvement third up from this horse but does have to make up many lengths on a couple that beat him a fair way last start. Liked the form from last prep and his best would measure up ok. Very small e/w bet for me.

Flemington Race 3 #4 EXCELMAN $7.50 + #7 STANDOFF $16
Just splitting a bet here and small stake again. EXCELMAN is known to get over more ground but I don’t mind stayers having their fresh run on the big Flemington track and his fresh form is pretty handy to be honest. Recent jumpout was good enough too. STANDOFF looks as though best runs are on this track and I like the booking of Yendall. Nothing against those who had been on but Yendall is better. Hoping they ride to get to the outside as he looks a better horse when he’s got fresh air.

Flemington Race 4 #5 PAPPALINO $10
I’d love a drop or rain and I’d have been very keen. This horse will want further in time but 3rd up I reckon has found a winnable race. Some handy types engaged but feel this horse might have a touch more class. Like the booking of Allen and at the price close to double figures it’s enough for a speck bet for me.

Race 5 #11 FRANKIE PINOT $3.70
One of the better bets on the day but like the horse above, he’d have loved a softer track and the poor bugger can’t draw a gate. That means he will spot them a big start and have a bit to do on the corner. He has a great turn of foot and the big track will help, as does the booking of McEvoy! Just can’t lose sight of the bunny or he will be a flashing placing yet again….
