GIBBOS BEST:
Race 2 No.6–RECKLESS CHOICE $3.30
He finds the perfect race and is in good form. Just been too far back his last couple but the runs have been good. Comes out of a good race, ran the best L400m and 200m in that race and just has to be midfield here to be the horse to beat. Can’t be flat footed when Clark tries to skip away on the leader.
Best at $5+:
Race 7 No.2-FARNAN $6
The synthetic hoof filler isn’t usually the greatest thing you want to hear. My biggest query though is why he isn’t wearing blinkers after he went like a bomb in them last week between races. Now for the positives, he draws to get the run of the race, he has good speed, he relaxes and has a turn of foot. All the things you need to win a race like this.
Best Roughie:
Race 8 No.1-CRACK ME UP $9.50/$3.10
Never easy with 60kg but he’s a big unit and a quality animal. I like the fact he draws well enough to land in front of 5-6 horses here. His fresh run was excellent and condition might have just give way late. Has trialled leading into this and should be cherry ripe for his grand final. Look for him late.
