Premiership leader has some nice ones returning!

The Matthew Dunn stable continues to lead the Brisbane premiership and most amazingly continues to pound out the winners with an incredible strike rate.

Dunn not only has less horses than most of his nearest rivals but it is also forgotten he pops a lot of the horses down to Lismore, Grafton and the Northern Rivers to pick up the Bobs bonus and get prize money for the owners and hence giving up the chance to rack up more midweek winners in Brisbane.Matt Dunn Racing

If the talk of the town down south is team Hawkes than the Dunn stable is the equivalent up here. The job Matt, his wife Kiera and the team do is outstanding and there is no doubt in my mind that the great racing mind and talent of Glen Colless also helps to stay on top of the premiership.

Although Matthew will not have the numbers going around that other trainers will have leading into the last few months of the premiership he does have quality and I took the time to get a quick update on a few.

LONDEHERO- Was looking at a race in Brisbane on Saturday but will get weighted out of it so the Gosford Guineas (1200m) will be his next assignment.

THE WHITE HOPE- Going good and should trial in about three weeks.

SPLENDORA- A chance of running 1st up without a trial but main plan would be trial 15th April and then run in the Gold Coast Guineas.

HOLLYWOOD BARBIE- A fair few options and nothing set in stone yet, chance to trial on the 15th and then go 1st up in a 2yr old 1200m race.

*The stable continue to churn out winners and just over the weekend alone got winners at Eagle Farm (Buakaw) Sunshine Coast (Shamtilly Lace) and Grafton (Fifth Chance).Denman filly

All this has happened without Dunn ever paying big money for yearlings. This year is probably the most active the stable and bloodstock guru Neil Jenkinson have been in buying some really nice yearlings and they are selling like hotcakes! I think there are just a few shares left in a couple of youngsters but I am sure the team will be looking at a few at the Inglis sales come Easter.
