UPDATED 8:15 Monday.
It is the Queens birthday weekend which means brissy races! I have gone through to do a mini “The Punt” section I guess you could call it. Not as big a run down.
Race 1: This is very open and not worth going into at length. The ones that interest me are COUP RAYVAN, THE REVELLER and NANJERA. I wont be getting involved unless one is a really nice price, and I may have a small bet.
On Top:Leaning to 9-THE REVELLER
Race 2: Gee BILLIE BLUE GUM looks well placed. I will probably have her in some allups, but don’t want to take silly odds. Loves it wet and loves the 1000m trip. FAIRY GUMNUT is also in decent from and can run well.
On Top: 1-BILLIE BLUE GUM
Race 3: TOPTWO, FALVADORE and SEVENTH HEART are horses I have a bit of time for. But again not a race I am keen on. If SEVENTH HEART has some support I’d be happy to go with it. Colless to ride for Matt Dunn is a good combination.
Race 4: WORLD WIDE have the class edge on most of these. The wetter the track gets the more I’d lean WORLD WIDE.HAGOVER HENRY loved the wet
On Top: 1-WORLD WIDE
Next best: 3-HANGOVER HENRY
Race 5: EXCELLANTES is a very good horse dropping many grades. STEEL DRAGON is also grades above this but is coming off a long break. These two are proven and I have a lot of time for both. RED HOT HUSSLER and THE BARRACKS are lightly raced, have upside and should be respected. Also beware Darryl Hanson’s MARTIKA, it has quality on it’s day and he is a very good trainer. READY STEADY VETTI brings solid Sydney form.
On Top: 1-EXCELLANTES
Next best:
2-STEEL DRAGON, 14-RED HOT HUSSLER, 10-READY STEADY VETTI
Race 6: A great race for PERUGIN THOUGHT and if price is right he looks like he should be too good after being beaten less than a length by Gundy Son last time. ASPARIN and CRAIGLEE FALCON can be flies in the ointment, both have good runs in then when conditions suit. KALBO has strung a few together
On top: 1- PERUGIN THOUGHT e/w
Race 7: Sorry- Staying well clear. Some nice horses engaged and I will be treating it as a race to watch and the form that comes out of it will be very strong.
Race 8: Another tough one! FAVELA STAR is a mudlark so has to be respected, the last 100m is the question. OUTSTANDINGLY has had no luck lately and gets gate 1. LAKE GEORGE was great first up, likes the wet and pretty much ticks each box. DEE BEE NINE may be the forgotten horse and some value. BRAVE THE WAY first up loves the sting out and can be coming hard late. GENERAL PURPLE has been going ok and may just be looking for a genuine wet track?
On top: 4-LAKE GEORGE.
If you are looking for value OUTSTANDINGLY may be worth a look, but LAKE GEORGE will be hard to beat.
Good luck, #betresponsibly and have a great public holiday!
Blackbookers from Saturday should be up later today.
