Just a few racing snippets to keep up to date:

*Dunaden will return to Australia to contest the Melbourne Cup. He only beat one runner home in a Group 2 race a few days ago but I felt the run was creditable and he will again be a force. The cup is likely to be his next start.

*A weird case where Chris Munce was suspended for changing his whip action after the winning post and striking another horse on Saturday in Brisbane. Munce is appealing and will fight the case strongly.

I have not seen any of the footage so we just have to wait to see how it plays out but Munce seems very confident he has done nothing wrong.

*Many would have thought we seen the Melbourne cup winner when the Dermot Weld trained Voleuse De Couers gave the Irish St Leger field a hiding the other day, however it looks as though the mare will be staying at home and unlikely to head out.

*A couple of very good races coming up at Newcastle over the next couple of days.

The Spring Stakes for 3 year olds is a beauty with last start winner Stamina for Peter Moody the one to beat.

The Cameron Handicap– 1500m is a cracker! Interesting to see Qld horse Tokamak line up and even though this is a very strong field I think he is good enough to at least consider at a big price for trifecta’s, first 4’s etc.

We do have two BLACKBOOKERS running in the big race Wednesday:

Tokamak – Newcastle R7 No.9 (1500m):
High Esteem – Newcastle R7 No.10 (1500m):
