Some of the Sydney features

Just a bit of a look at some of the features. I’ve done this on a very wet track, forecast says it will be very heavy again. Will add more races if i get time leading into them.

The PERCY SYKES: 1200m.

The Snowden’s are as good as they get and love this prep for PARIS DIOR. She was very good in every run of her first prep. She’s had a let up and performed very well in trials leading into this. She gets JMac and looks the one to beat.

MAGIC CARPET is still a maiden but looks the wrong price at $15 to me. Handles the heavy tracks well, was nice and tough behind She’s Extreme last start and the trial was very good recently. Looks to be on the way up to me.

OJAI comes out of the slipper and that’s obviously the best form. Was very good late there. NORTH STAR LASS and WILLINGA BEAST are the two who might have some x-factor. They were winners on debut and look to have a stack of upside. SWIFT SWEET could land in exotics at a big price and not surprise.

*I will look at something on PARIS DIOR $3.50 and smaller MAGIC CARPET $15

THE OAKS 2400m:

Pretty even sort of oaks, but i do think there are 6-7 that will be beaten 100m here.

I’d be keen GYPSY GODDESS on a dry track but still think she can run well. Got through the ground ok in the lead up. She got way too far back and the effort was very good. She’s just had pipe openers with this as the goal for a long time. She excels when she gets to 2000m+ and she will be in the money somewhere.

1600-2400m is always an issue for me but Maher/Eustace have done it with Hitotsu and now trying it with BISCAYNE BAY. She run the trip out in the Victorian Oaks and she does get the blinkers go back on. While others are getting a stitch she should be strong.

HONEYCREEPER was outstanding with the blinkers on last week and it was a dominant display. Relished the wet ground and was a class above everything in the Adrian Knox. Real sense of timing about her and Bowman rides for Cummings. Extremely hard to beat.

Liked the effort of PINK IVORY who wasn’t far off GYPSY GODDESS last start. In a very good stable of training stayers. I’m prepared to take on HINGED at the distance but she is a swimmer so might be in it for a long way. LE VILLI can be considered for wider exotics.

*HONEYCREEPER and GYPSY GODDESS on top but no steal at the prices.
