Straddy day on ‘The Punt’

A couple of ripping Saturdays in a row! Backed it up with a really good Wednesday for those that jumped on site. Let’s hope we can keep it going. We can thank J.Orman for the Wednesday winner, one of the best rides you will see. $5.50 out to $9 was a surprise too.

Guess we have to give our BEST AT $20+ as we ran 2nd last week with CHARMMEBABY. For those who don’t know, it might not be in my top couple each week, it’s just one at big odds I think can run well. Gonna mention two this week. Race 1 SHAQUILA $26. Just reckon he’s better than we have witnessed on bog tracks, can improve at EF. And might mention Race 7 BROSNAN $21. A few dominate the market but his two dry track runs have been very good and looks overs.

Race by race preview will be up for RACING.COM after 9am Saturday.

Here’s a look at one race early (might change slightly raceday) to give you a look at what you get for the grand price of FREE.

Race 3:

The quality isn’t much good, but you have to love a two mile race. SWEET THOMAS is a rising 11yr old and is a leading chance, that says a bit. He is a dry tracker and he loves the 3200m. Back to dry ground last start and he was probably a good thing beaten in the G3 Premiers Cup. Held up for a few strides and savaged the line late. He’s been $51+ at six of his last seven runs and you have to take single digits here. THROUGH IRISH EYES is bred to be a stayer and that’s exactly what he is. Looks like one of the old fashioned stayers, not a great turn of foot but just keeps trying. In the Eustace/Maher camp and still lightly raced. Won a VRC St Leger last prep and comes here off a good run in the Andrew Ramsden. The trip won’t be an issue, Kah rides and I think he’s the one they all have to beat. THE FEARLESS ONE and KING OF LEOGRANCE might be next best for exotics. Backing #6 and making #4 a small winning result.

A few scratching’s last week at the GCTC but some success as well. CONTREARAS $8 into $3.30 and got a peach from JAG. And POITA was home for all money but beaten on the line. Dry track this week and keen to get into them. Let’s do this.

GCTC Gibbo’s Tips:

Listen in at 9am Saturdays. Why not? Winners and a laugh with Chris Nelson and myself.
